This thread has a fair number of old gits who think they can command retail money for a tired 'limited' edition.

All these desperate idiots advertise with 'first to see will buy.. be quick at...' toe curlingly cringeworthy. Like watching something horrific, you don't want to, but can't help yourself. hehe

Mk1 Rover Sterling with completely knackered bodywork. £5000. Harharhardehar. Last on the road in 2009. Loved this line from his advert.
"Again please understand these cars are simply not available to purchase and the price is the price"

78k for a new S6 Avant. Sub 350bhp diesel with fake exhausts. Gulp.

Saw one of these Rovers back in the mid 00’s and it looked and sounded amazing. Would have loved one.

I had a corporate track day at Rockingham about 15 years ago and they had one to take round and it was amazing... the sound was fantastic... similar to R/R Spt SVR, I don't think this one is over priced,it will only go one way now... very rare...

Totally agree. If I had the spare funds would jump at it in a flash - everything is right about it for me - whacky, zany, fast, rare. I believe Rowan Atkinson has one.

Lol - I just respect him for driving it in the first place rather than a garage queen.

Father in Law has one ,not the most refined car in the world but the looks, the noise and performance make up for it

I’m not really a fan of that MG at all but I wouldn’t say it’s overpriced, probably cheap if anything, it’s very rare too. If Sierra cossies are going for 100k, I’d say this is fairly priced

Had a few of the last ones at work a few years ago having locks and immobilisers changed.

Apparently they were part payment of a debt.

We shared a MG track day (with lotus on track) about 15 years ago and there were quite a few of these on the circuit (Donington). Sadly now more likely garage queens.

Funnily enough been at Donington today and it was the MG cup racing.

I realise it's undoubtedly had more spent on it than the asking price, but who in their right mind would spend £27k on this...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SMART-FORTWO-BRABUS-SMA...

Probably also qualifies for pointlessly modified as it seems like it's only capable of being driven fast in a straight line in the dry and attempting anything else would be dangerous, given it's dynamics and the laws of physics I doubt it could go around a corner much faster than a standard Smart car.
That would be truly and utterly hideous to drive. Absolutely pig awful

Agreed.

It would be fun for about the first 30 minutes of ownership but then the novelty will wear off and you'll realise that all it can do is accelerate fast on a perfectly dry straight road and even then I bet it's only capable of utilising about half of it's claimed 300bhp.

I wouldn't even pay £7k for it, never mind £27k.

Love it, 17 years old and been to a Honda dealer 4 times = "Full main dealer service history"

As the advert is dated April I guess not many people have seen it yet...

As S2000s are heavily afflicted by the tinworm underneath, if (IF) this one is in fine fettle it's not too far off the going rate (surprisingly high that may be). It might be a rusty dog, however.
Source: spending two years wedging my face under many S2000s to find a decent one for my OH that wasn't in this price bracket.
