On the Ford theme -> https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Escort-1-8-130PS-X...redface9YAAOSwyi5czYIu

This looks like candidate for this thread.

"IMMACULATE". It'll need the clutch and fly doing, cambelt doing, bodywork is a mess with mismatched body panels and gaps. It's a £500 example on a good day, even then I've had better examples for that money.

Far from immaculate, average at best ..... it needs a new lower front grill (its missing), possible headlight refurb, incorrect boot handle (should be colour coded), faded ST170 boot badge & the bodywork looks shabby (from the photo of the wheel)

I absolutely love it when people post the original articles for old stuff like this... Are you lot just scanning in your mags or is there a website where I can see all of this stuff?
If memory serves correct - I had that brochure, the photography was fantastic, quite substantial too as every model was featured - That would have been from the 1988 motorshow at the NEC.
Ah, the Rockwell font. I remember it well..

The pic is pretty much my 2nd one, except I don’t remember mine having a spoiler. Maybe it did... 30 years ago, and my memory’s not what it could be.
I think your memory serves you well Chris

They didn’t have one as standard

However you could have one from the optional RS bodykit fitted from new at the dealer
That brings memories back. My dad had one as you say.... Ghia, in a sort of silvery/blue with the spots, pepper pots and the RS body kit. I remember the day the guy from the garage who came to take it for its MOT promptly ripped the front bumper off by misjudging the curb on his return. Loved that car, especially when driving out to Stokesley on a dark evening and we could put the spot lamps on! Nothing cooler!

They did a 2-door coupe version of the 4-dr Orion with opening rear quarter vents in Brazil

Now that is one for the 'cars I never knew existed'... Looks all kind of cut-and-shut.

Only a couple of grand overpriced probably but the MOT has expired despite the ad twice say it has a long one. Advert was probably written last year so just highlights how long it's sat around.

I messaged to let them know but no response. So absolute top money and you get the privilege of buying from a dealer that doesn't care.

I thought that was describing my farts at first. "Prestigious and potent"

Way overpriced for a high mileage pre facelift 3.0d that's being falsely advertised as an SD

I don't understand why you keep linking cheap cars?

Firstly it's a rising price auction. It's not the seller that has overpriced the car. Someone is willing to pay that.

Book price comes back at £2800. It's only a few hundred quid up on book, and if the car is genuinely pampered, it's a small premium to pay for a good one.

sigh

A. Because overpriced is overpriced

B. Because it's falsely advertised as a car thats worth way more than that

C. It's a 160k pfl 3.0d, I doubt it.

D. Sorry my posts have you so worked up, you ok hun? xx

Ok, so what’s it worth?

With 33 bids, people clearly seeing it being worth more than you.

The clue is in the title "SERIOUSLY OVERPRICED" it's a pointless post imo just like the 330d you posted a while back....

Maybe they think it's an SD like it's being falsely advertised as, in which case it'd be worth way more than it's currently at.
