Of the 5 for sale on Auto Scout, 4 are more expensive. Which would lead me to believe it's not even slightly over priced, and that's its priced correctly.
All six were overpriced then? It's a tarted up 190 ffs lol

In the same way that an M3 Evo Sport is a "tarted up E30"...

I wouldn’t say that’s overpriced, it may seem expensive for what it is but for a homologation special where only 500 exist, it’s probably sensibly providing the cars history.

I think it’s very cool, the 4.0 V8 AMG make now is incredible but I miss the days where every AMG/High performance Mercedes had their own engine that was exclusive to the model/class. They literally all have the same engine now apart from the smaller cars which all have the same engine.

My favourite old Merc would be the C43, small car with a 300 bhp 4.3 V8 and a 5 speed auto, I owned a ropey CLK 430 and loved it, imagine a fresh C43, on my bucket list to drive/own

the car been around for nearly 30 years, only 7 years ago you could buy one for 50-65k. So in 7 years what has added on the extra 100k?

The only fact is low interest rates have driven people to 'invest' in cars, people aren't buying them to run, just make money. So when the music stops whoever buys it, will it still be a bargain?

Or the prices are massively inflated so at 160k it is probably at the peak of its worth, so over priced.

I agree, there are better cars available but one of those sold a couple of years ago for north of 200k...
I’ve seen a couple sell for over £200,000

One sold for nearly 300k ( £292,500 )

Both very low mileage though

161k Miles, early model for 18 and a half, and others are priced similarly. 160k for a low mileage mint Evo II sounds about right considering only 500 were made

Inflated due to market inflation maybe but peaking does not mean over-priced, just not the smartest time to buy

I don’t think that’s too bad.

It’s a rare car, in a rare and desirable colour with low owners and mileage and full history

There’s an identical one, albeit with very low mileage currently for sale at £45k

That is priced correctly.
This is no 'ordinary' evo11, its at or very near concours condition.
With new MB old stock interior and suspension it's likely the only one like it..

Cat D, no history, needing a major service and inspection plus full repaint

£10k to £12k is more realistic figure.

Interesting how much more revered and famous the M3 is yet it's worth a lot less now.

190 Evo 2s were 15-20 grand all day long from Germany when I used to fiddle with importing in the early 2000s. They never turned me on in the slightest. I guess because they don't have any reputation as a driver's (road) car, perhaps because far fewer were tested by the usual media outlets and fewer have owned them.

They look cool. There's still several thousand other cars I'd rather own.

There is never a lack of supply of Z4MC.

Is red really a desirable colour? I like red, but red has always been unpopular in BMW circles.

Values are going down and cars are taking an age to sell.

The car up for £13,200 looks far better value.

Really? Clean ones are double that so a 993 expert might be able to make that work.

Try this C2 with a godawful body kit and lovely windscreen sticker

That's been for sale since before Noah built the ark, at a variety of heart-attack-inducing prices.
Wonder why?

The only one I can currently find for sale is £169k

I'd happily pay £10-12k for a cat D 993 needing a service and paintwork. Please post up any adverts you see for the above as I'd be on that like a tramp on a chip

I remember the contemporary road tests singling out the Evo 2 as one of the finest handling rwd saloons of the day. Certainly I can recall George Karcher in CAR thinking the handling was amazing (but didn't like the gaudy wingwork and torque light 4 cyl, both homologation constraints).
