How has it got 26 bids ? because 26 people want one ?
Re-shell and throw away the rest ! Classic car prices show no sign of dropping imho.
Every part is being remanufactured.

Only the VIN plate survives the resto and people still treat it like a vintage car.

People who want to buy the identitySurely, it shouldn't be legal to buy a box of bolts and rust and build a new vehicle based on its identity?

What is the law around this? I mean, surely this would end up as Trigger's Broom right? I thought I saw something recently about US barn finds where they said they weren't allowed to replace everything.

Cars of that era were usually a collection of bits of other cars. I had Minis for years and they all came (or I fitted) new doors, bonnets, engines, etc.Surely, it shouldn't be legal to buy a box of bolts and rust and build a new vehicle based on its identity?
Seeing cars with different coloured body panels was not a rare occurrence back in the day.

Good point - there was of the course the famous case where one D-Type existed as two cars - one with rear monocoque, and one with the front chassis, although that was sorted by one person buying both cars and recombining them. Allegedly there are more Lola T70s racing than were ever built.
In the Bugatti world the problem has been around for many years - where it is alleged that an unscrupulous restorer or two, over-restores a car, with perhaps 80% new components, while keeping the minimum number of specified parts required by the FIA, then places the old chassis and some parts in a hedge somewhere, and then has the rusty parts discovered a few years later...

This joker seems to think a LHD Z3 Coupé is worth £75k.
Not the iconic Z3M Coupé which on a good day may make £25-30k, but a much lesser 2.8 litre model which is comparatively easy to buy on the continent.
I’d love to have a glass of whatever the seller has drunk please.
