Seriously Overpriced Cars
Discussion
This E39 is back on eBay again
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2003-BMW-5-SERIES-530I-...
I think the sellers been sniffing glue or similar
The car is not in excellent condition; it has bodywork and rust issues.
It might be 'low miles' but that's all it's got going for it
It's a £4-5k car every day of the week due to the low mileage; still poverty spec and still rusty!
Be warned!

Why is everybody picking on this man, what’s the big deal?
Inclined to agree with to be fair. Chap does come across as a bit of a blowhard, but doesn’t merit the scrutiny/abuseHe's been asked loads of times to give us some proof where we can buy cars for pennies and a link to his garage to get these outrageously low prices. He fails to do so every time, yet keeps coming back to knock cars.
The posts complete nonsense. The more nonsense he posts the more scrutiny he attracts. He's just trying to noise people up and brings it on himself.

it's not really poverty spec is it?
Fairly; no heated seats, no memory seats; no electric steering wheel adjustment, no double glazing, no blinds etcIt's got TM that need to be ripped out or it will start to cause issues; it's no cup holders (can be fitted when TM is ripped out); its got outdated NAV and looks like the 16:9 head unit has pixel issues (although it could just be poor pictures)
It's simply a basic spec Champagne; that's it
I've been to see it, in person and the guys a cockend; avoided questions when asked re the cooling system and when it was last overhauled, same with the suspension and wouldn't let my pal remove one of the jacking pads to assess the sill rust etc
He's hoping someone with no clue comes a long and loses a lot of money on the car!

Not poverty far from it really, yes overpriced but looks clean inside.
Why isn't it?It's a Champagne Sport; so it'll always come with xenons, washers, folding mirrors, Sport suspension, Style 37s etc; but that's factory spec
Other than that, it has nothing special about it, at all, bar it being clean inside and a Champagne

I would love to know where £750,000 buys the guy above a house with 5 bedrooms, 3 en suites, 4 acres of prime land in a deer park, a gym, a 6 car garage and parking for 14 cars.
I don't live in an expensive city, but the smaller house i have, with no gym, less than half an acre of land, 2 en suites, parking for 4 cars and a double plus single garage was valued at £1.3M by Matthews of Chester this year.
His house must be on a remote island?

Can see about the price, 5k for this own, can't see much difference between the two. It's a Champagne Sport; so it'll always come with xenons, washers, folding mirrors, Sport suspension, Style 37s etc; but that's factory spec

There isn't reallyhttps://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-e39-530i-individual...
Apart from the £5k one looks very 'well worn' inside, both headlights need sorting etc
I wouldn't want to part with more than £3.5k for that
Unfortunately; it's not a £5k car, Champagne or no Champagne

The 52 plate one we have I did actually pay the exact £500 for it.
Up and running with 12 months mot (when I can be bothered to get around to it) would be a realistic £1500
Its all its worth.
We price cars realistically and fairly, it's the reason we sell hundreds each year. If we've had a car for sale for a week, it's a week too long.
We don't look for big profit but sell on volume and it's a good buisness model which I've earnt a small fortune out of. I have a circa £750k - £850k house (no mortgage) with 5 bedrooms, 3 ensuites, a gym, a 6 car garage, parking for 14 others and 4 acres of ground situated in a private deer park with no neighbours and I owe absolutely nothing, I don't even have a credit card.
All by selling under market value Realistically priced cars...

Can you get options on Champagne editions? I always thought they were fixed spec. Crazy money for sure especially with issues. I'll take an M5 please.
IIRC yes you could add them; but not a lot didAnd yes, £15k would get you a very well looked after E39 M5 and even an E60 M5 (if you're brave enough)!

335i Touring (2009) for £17,990 seems keen despite the low miles.

Autotrader actually states it's a great price and £436 below market average.... hardly worth posting is it...335i Touring (2009) for £17,990 seems keen despite the low miles.
