E39 540i SE Touring

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-540i-M-Sport-Tourin...

Seller doesn't even know what he's got, its an SE, not a Sport and it's not a nearly £10k car either laugh
I’m curious, not trying to start a fight. What’s it “really” worth?
It's a V8 no matter what; but still an SE, so £4-£5k is fair; any more and it's getting silly. They are thin on the ground and most folk would look to buy that to change to a 'Sport' (bumpers; side mouldings, steering wheel, suspension etc)

Just a shame it's so stupidly priced to begin with and the seller doesn't even know which car he's got!

Avoiding.

It'll have more fluid leaks than the hull of the Titanic.

It's a bit triggers broom but more importantly what a friggin miserable life. Richer than you would dream but spending 10,000kms a week in a car for 9 years, or 500 miles a day. Wow.
Probably comfier sat in the back of that than most people's office set up.
I was thinking the same. Could be that he actually enjoyed that aspect of his life. Less distractions, time to think and plan, facilities to work if needs be...etc. Each to their own, but I imagine he was not in the least bit "miserable" otherwise he would not have done it.
He also may have had the car sent out to pick people up as he had the driver.

TBH it looks a very well looked after and clean example; I'd dare say it's hardly got any leaks and if any at all; it'll be the usual rocker cover leaks etc, which are easy enough to sort

How about an old taxi breathed on by the Chavmeister Generals at Kahn for £99k.

Seller says it costs £150k new. It doesn't. Apparently it's actually a thing, but costs £70k. Which is still mental.

This guy thinks so. 650k miles! The cost of fuel used would have paid for an S65 AMG.....

Going by the article he did even more than that, as the milometer stopped at 625k. That was in '09. He replaced the car in '13, so probably did a third as much again! Crazy.

Awful colour scheme to choose though...looks so pallid.

Jeez that's so true. He needs a new job with a little less of a commute smile
Ironic that his business was selling solar panels...

Low mile tanks do fetch a premium but I thinks that’s going a bit far.

This Xsara is still up for sale, I'm sure I remember seeing it earlier in the thread, but it looks like it may have been reduced from £9,995 at one point, now to £7,995, so grab a bargain while you can!
