Am all for old crap cars but I'm missing how it's worth that.
I don't think that looks that bad for £1700, its certainly unusual. Wouldn't surprise me if we see it spruced up and re-advertised on a white background at 5995.

I dunno, those Carinas are getting rare now, and were very good cars. Providing that rust isn't terminal yet, and the sunroof hasn't turned into a shower, I think that's pretty decent if you could knock a few hundred quid off in the bargaining.

A symphony in brown.

Also, on a note for what seems like a lot of cars in these threads, why on earth do people show their car being washed in the pictures? Does any prospective buyer care that you have washed it at some point?

I have never in my life seen an MOT failure for both front wipers missing... biglaugh
Who presents a car for an MOT with no front number plate or wipers?!
Not someone that owns a "perfect" car, shirley.

"wrapped in stunning Gold Dust Satin Black from 3M 2080 series, spotless full beige Dakota leather with carbon fibre upgrade interior, side mirrors and diffuser carbon upgrade, SunTekcarbon tinted windows, ceramic coating protection from Gtechniq, full dechroming, (all worth £ 3500) "

Take them all off and sell them separately then, if they're worth that much?
Oh, wait...

Ha ha ha! Maybe he took the wipers and plate off for a VMAX run on the way the MOT test centre?

I can smell the cherry vape interior from here.

E61 550i touring

Low miles I know, but cannot see it fetching anywhere near that price:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-550i-2010-E61-TOURI...
I don't think they'll struggle to sell it at all. Top condition LCI E61's are still bringing strong money, I've seen a few 530/535d's making around £10k
It's been up for a good while now pal

The dervs are still fairly sought after; the V8s less so...

It's not a £13k car; high single digits maybe, bot not more than £10k unless someone REALLY wants it IMO
Seems like a fair price to me for a rare car, being the V8 would make it sought after in my opinion, considering the 535d isn't exactly rare...

E39 530i Sport

Standard UK car with not even 'low miles'; nice spec interior wise. But that's it really...

£11k laugh

https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1316858

He had it listed initially as a 3.0 V6 spin

Clearly has no idea what he's talking about, nor has any idea re the market if he thinks he'll even make half that haha biggrin

It's a c£4-£5k car every day with it's spec; if it's fairly rust free and with excellent history. If not, no more than £4k

I had a feeling the V6 Clios would be the subject of ludicrous asking prices eventually - didn't think it'd be for a few years yet though. This one, however, proved me wrong.

Edit- 3k LHD one up for £57,000 too. Guess their time has come. wobble

Of particular note was a full cambelt and auxiliary pump replacement in 2017 at 10,629 miles along with new starter motor and clutch slave cylinder. Nice to have done, but why needed with such low use and mileage?

That should be it's second cambelt change...? as it's every 5 years or 72000 miles and it's the first question asked when your selling one, when I sold mine I ended up paying for it to be changed even though it wasn't due for 6 months and it wasn't cheap.

Not in the same league as some of the excellent work on here, but; you could buy a 2018 DB11 with around 5-6k from a main dealer with a 12 month warranty, fully checked for around £95k, or you could spend 10k more from a private seller with none of those things.....

This car and seller both confuse and annoy me. Goes to the effort of saying it's all orginal down to the unpainted orange vents, then shows the painted black vents, STi seats and STI mats, unoriginal wheels and despite him saying it has air con, clearly has no air con. The rear bench seat is half STI bench and half UK2000 which is odd considering the picture of the original seats shows the missing STI half. If I was gonna spend £11k on a 2000 Turbo, I'd expect it to be absolutely perfect and completely accurate in the description, if the seller can't even describe it accurately and can't be bothered to give it a quick vac before taking the pictures then it really doesn't scream "the one we are all looking for". Looks like the white door cards have been dyed too.

Looks decent enough though, even if the sunroof would put me off (doesn’t seem right in a Subaru me).

For £11k you'd pretty much expect perfection. It's the description that puts me off more than the silly price.

Overly optimistic seller gets carried away writing poor copy in their description, meh, I'd rather that than just a mobile number as many on the 'bay seem to think is acceptable. Hyperbole and trite clichés in the ad notwithstanding...I don't really see what's 'that' annoying.

Probably just me that finds waffling on and false details annoying then

But I'd still rather buy that Subaru 5 times over than spend £5k on an Escort automatic convertible

Maybe so, I take all descriptions with a pinch of salt myself. When people are trying to sell you something they'll come out with any old rubbish - everyone from back alley chancers to shiny supercar showrooms are all full of total cack when they're in sell mode.
