£300k for a brand new 22B Impreza? I guess "find another"

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224116733853?hash=item3...

There is another on ebay for £180k with 25k miles.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363354676060?hash=item5...

Special car but not that rare in the grand scheme.

One of these sold at auction in the US in April for over $300k with 40k on the clock. Both of these seem to have sold. Someone thinks they're worth this kind of money.

If both are sold then they weren’t overpriced. Expensive though.

"Overpriced in my opinion" and "overpriced in the market's opinion" aren't necessarily the same thing. See also: Ford RS tax, graphics cards and whichever muppet paid £400k for a windowless 85 sq m electrical substation cheaply redesigned as a 2 bed house 5 minutes walk from my front door.

I struggle to fully understand this concept of just because an individual was stupid/gullible/uninformed enough to pay a particular price for something then it must be worth that price.

Masses of people get ripped off and scammed into losing money and paying more for something than it's worth constantly, through a whole range of cons and get rich quick schemes, mainly because they are too gullible/vulnerable/uninformed/greedy.

Bit of an extreme example but if I was to convince a vulnerable person who has very low intelligence or SEN to buy a can of beans off me for £1,000 does that mean just because that particular individual was willing to pay £1k for that can of beans then that must be what they're worth?

Provided that it isn't a scam, and that the item is described accurately and can be verified, then how much someone will pay for something is literally how much it is worth - people don't need to be stupid or gullible to spend piles of money on something that other people find strange. I'd imagine all of our fantasy 20 car garages would be crammed full of nonsense that Joe Public would find utterly ridiculous - mine would have a €100k 1990 Golf G60 Limited for example!

Eh? £9,800?
That has to be a mistake...
You could have a 12-reg and enough money left over to get new tyres, for that.
You could even get a nice JCW and not that S model.
I paid less than that for a 2013 JCW. It's not a joke, either, looking at it.

As much as I loved my old Rallye, I think this is a bit OTT

That's horrific, lots of torque though:

maximum torque of 800 Nm is available at 3500 rpm

I love how they've used the specs/description from Wiki for the actual CLK DTM which are £300k+ these days.

We used to get a few ‘upgraded’ Range Rovers and Range Rover Sports as part-exchange prospects. As a rule, we could explain to the owners that the £15,000 they had forked out on horrific body kits and bespoke interiors actually made their cars worth £15,000 less (not more) on cap.... but we couldn’t understand it for them.
