Have a look at the MOT history. It was rusty in 2010. I will concede that price might be ok for a concours, original unmolested car, but it's way over for this one.

I disagree really (with the proviso that I haven’t bothered to examine any history or validated mileage, etc).

The thing has done 15k in 50 years! It looks concours from the pictures.

Whoever buys it will know how much it would cost to take bring an average rusty example up to this condition.

That is well overpriced, around £45k is top money from what I have seen.
Have you seen another is this condition and this mileage?
This is a one off there won't be another like it.
I'm not saying it's 'worth' £70k but where would you find another.
'Where would you find another?' is the oft-used line by those that grossly overprice their stock. It's rarity, or even uniqueness, doesn't magically bestow it with outrageous worth.
Yes I agree but in some cases like this Rover it would be apt. Its an over used term but like this particular one is pretty unique..
I don't mind when 'where would you find another' is used on something that really is a bit special.

Looses it's meaning somewhat if it's used on a mid range Mk3 Astra.

Because the value of that car is no where near £71195.

The owner probably thought it was a good deal.
I personally know of a 1986 D plate Capri 2.8i , 1 owner ( now deceased) in maroon ,36k miles, always garaged in Norwich which recently sold for £18k.
KGF are greedy chancers.
36k on the clock is a different world to sub 1k miles.
It is a different proposition, sure, but near as damn it 4x the worth?
Find another to benchmark it against. Nothing surprises me in the world of classic Ford pricing
There's a lower mileage Saab 900 turbo convertible on auction at the moment which has gone beyond $48k with time left to run - the US is a different market but Ford does well in this country so it gives you an idea: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1987-saab-900-19
$145,000 for the Saab... so is £75k for the Capri wrong?

£2.5k for a 1999 Daewoo?

To be fair it only has 6,628 miles...

I never understand who buys those low mileage but unremarkable cars. It’s still 23 years old, hardly a collectors piece so who would that appeal to?!

I do wonder just how many of these sort of things sell.....other being paraded around at "the festival of the unexceptional" or similar, I really don't understand any draw they have whatsoever. As for the "find me another" in this sort of situation.....unless i'm missing something with these, i'm not sure anyone really wants to?

We recently sold my grandmother-in-law's Chevrolet Matiz.....it had 7,500 miles on the clock and was effectively showroom condition........we could barely give it away. A little sporty or quirky something or other es, but these are nothing short of an eye sore. We are 25 years away from these sort of things becoming rare/collectible.

Those Heritage RS' go for stupid money compared to the standard ones. Think there's only 50 RHD ones so there's a big collectors market for them.
If told someone I paid 80k for that, they would think I was insane
Get the £18,500 look for £85,000
Never driven on the road apparently, god knows where it traveled 25 miles then...

That last one was up for sale for £500k
Remember looking at these about 16 years ago and considering buying one, back then they were around 20 to 25k depending on miles and condition. Ended up buying a new Impreza instead as couldn't justify paying that money for a used Impreza...stupid me lol!

Missing the most important feature, the carbon Recaros. They have been replaced with cloth seats from the entry level model. A MX5/Roadster specialist is advertising a restored one (missing original seats but has Sparco buckets) in similar condition for £3500 less.

Do they "go" for stupid money or are they just advertised at stupid money?

That car has been on sale for ages.

Surely a 5 year old Daewoo with 50k miles would prove far more reliable and cheap than a 23 year old one that has not been used regularly.

Couple of grand for a car that might be as new seems OK to me. I like low miles 'normal' old cars, had a 12k mile Renault 5 Campus, a 14k mile Cinquecento Sporting, a 21k mile StreetKa ,a 14k mile volvo 343 and a 30k mile Volvo 940 amongst others, they offered quirky old school motoring with zero issues, I just find them more interesting than newer cars. Cars with very few miles have often been garaged as well, a simple service before putting them into service is usually all that's needed.

Would I buy the Daewoo? No, I don't like it, but I can understand why someone will
