How about a 1985 Escort for £722,500?

Holly fkin stballs!! I knew it wouldn't be cheap, but that is insane!!
But what it is is almost irrelevant is it not? It’s who it belonged to, its place in history and its potential future value. May as well be a half eaten mars bar.
I guess from that perspective, yes, but I have never understood something gaining value because a human I didn't know happened to come into contact with it. I couldn't care less who owned something, wouldn't add value for me not a Mars bar or and Escort RS.
Oh I agree, past ownership wouldn’t do much for me either but surely you must understand that for others it does?
Yes, I can understand something having additional value to someone because of an association to someone. There are things that have infinite value to me because of who has owned them and zero value to anyone else. I guess I simply find it odd when a car for example is worth multiple times it's market value to people that never knew the owner and have no emotional involvement with them. A good example is JK's cars, they seem to demand a premium because he owned them but its not like he is an icon for change, he didn't die tragically and hasn't impacted countless lives. Granted, he does look after his cars so that's a bonus, but lots of people do and can't draw the same value.
I understand it, I just don't get it, if that makes any sense lol!

Strong money for something with no explanation as to what it was doing for 7 years.

Bought a very nice B5 S4 Avant from this dealer in about 2010/11..initially asking c. £8k, which was very strong money back then....waited a while and managed to deal at c. £5k....so they have history.

Most of them are a about £10k overpriced. That’s some profit margin.

An old BMW Z4 up for around double what feels comfortable for that. I don't care if it's only got 19,000mls.

I'd suggest that business is a front for something else.

I've delivered cars there when I worked on transporters. Was an impressive setup with prep centre and looked legit.

Those prices however, look at the TT!

A Golf R that I leased ended up with them after going through BCA. I don’t remember the price being unusually high at the time.

That didn't appear on my delivery sheet when I dropped off a few cars, forgive me.

Looks like an ad in an old magazine.
I didn't know it was still a thing.

I can only assume it comes with £5.5k in cash in the glovebox.

Looks like it does actually come with dirty engine bay, health hazard interior with a plentiful supply of dead/ dry skin assortment and very flat doom blue paint.
£1200 tops.

That's a £500 car in my eyes, maybe £1k with the current used car prices. To add to your very accurate assessment, pic 2 you can also see the paint peeling on the roof, potentially peeling on the bonnet too, hard to tell, the lack of images of the front is a bit of a red flag.

It's also for sale as a 2003, when it's a 2001 car, not that an old heap like that two years makes much difference, but that's a bit odd.

There must be a typo in the price, no chance is that worth anywhere close to £5,850, my guess is it should be £585, or maybe £850.

?? It was MOT'd in June. Did 23K in the last year. They're great little runarounds, those PD Golfs, but that's an £800 car tops. I paid that for an 05 one a few years ago (admittedly with 200K miles on it).

I was going by the ad. "Next MOT due 28/07/2022" readit

If they've put a new ticket on it and haven't even been arsed to update the ad, and are still asking the thick end of six grand for it, they're a special kind of weapon.

That Dakar yellow M4 has been on sale for about 2 years now.
I’m pretty sure it was sub 40k back in 2020
