vibration seems to get better past 80 mph Navara ?????
Discussion
I was wondering if anyone can point me in right direction .My navara seems fine but when im on the motorway i notice a vibration kind of noise which is noticable from about 70 to 85 after i pass 85 it gets alot quieter and noise completely goes. when i slow down to 80 noise returns
Any ideas?

not got it on mine
where is it coming from ? front ? back, underneath ?
is it vibration or wind turbulence ?
I assume tyres are all OK ?
I assume no loos body work ?
its comming from the front could tracking create that noise where is it coming from ? front ? back, underneath ?

its not turbulence because it always completely dissapears after 85 i tried air pressure its the noise of vibration but with no vibration ?????? very odd

Tyres...
If it was propshaft it would just get worse with speed.
depends if it's about resonance If it was propshaft it would just get worse with speed.
I used to drive a Discovery 300tdi for (volunteer) work and at one point the steering damper had failed and this created a vibration between 55 and 65 mph , if you accelerated through it to 70 the vibration went

With live axles and steering box, yes, not with IFS and rack&pinionI used to drive a Discovery 300tdi for (volunteer) work and at one point the steering damper had failed and this created a vibration between 55 and 65 mph , if you accelerated through it to 70 the vibration went

Older Fords used to get this quite a lot. Balancing the wheels sorted it for a few months until the tyres wore slightly and it went out of balance again. The real cause was worn suspension bushes on the anti-roll bars which allowed the geometry to move around at speed, until it hit the point where the resonance ceased, which seemed to be around 90mph, which isn't exactly ideal.

the issue you brought up was specific, and is well known, it's 100% not applicable to the Navara.
Deal with it.
Having run Navara's for the last 9 years, I am pretty confident the problem is the tyres having had the same issue a few times.

Wheel balance and tyre wear. Try swapping wheels diagonally front to back. Will wear tread blocks in opposite direction. (Obviously do not do this if the tyres are directional!)
OP is far too vague as a million things in a car can create a 'vibration'. Start with the simple ones like above. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
