300 is a fair chunk of money for custom exhaust work, especially for just adding a second pipe. For that money no i wouldn't be happy!
Kung fu Panda - i don't know those establishments well myself, though iirc Topgear are mainly suppliers for parts. Personally i would go to the JP Exhausts you mentioned - if exhausts are their business, they won't do a shoddy job. But again, no personal experience!

I agree it doesn't look good, but if you didnt agree/specify the routing of the exhaust piping, I think you'll struggle to get anything back from the garage unless you're pleasant with them and manage to extract some goodwill. If you can't get them to have another go, you might just have to suck it up and see if somewhere else can sort it.

Some pretty harsh comments on here - a diesel BMW wouldn't be my choice either, but then neither would some of the cars owned by certain harsh respondents (i.e. each to their own!)....the OP is not the first person to try and make a car look sportier than it is!

I couldnt even face the embarrasment of walking into the place and asking to carry out the work in the first place.

Whilst 300 quid is cheap, I did a full set of headers for that recently....so yes, you've had yer pants pulled down. However, if you wanted it doing a specific way, you should have stated how you wanted it doing, or at least stayed whilst they worked out where to route it to see if you were happy.

Why on earth they didn't just split the backbox and weld the pipe on the other end though, I don't know.

My bets on an M4 badge front and back and possibly one on each wing

Cheap aftermarket ones, which protrude a bit too much and don't quite sit straight...

The nastiness of some of the comments on here is staggering.

I wouldn't stick twin pipes on my 320d either, but it's a free country.

Hasn't the fitter just aligned the dummy pipe to the existing one ? Fairly reasonable thing to do otherwise it would look odd.

hehe

OP - Have you looked into adapting a genuine BMW rear silencer? I would have thought that easier and better quality.

Followed by people with a passing interest in cars stating "your M4 sounds like diesel, is it supposed to?"

I was thinking that, its very playground. I can deal with a nasty comment if its funny, but most of these are just nasty.

It could be worse - there was a 325d for sale a while ago with the M3 exhaust fitted to it.

Unfortunately nowadays it seems to be the PH way, people offer nothing constructive blindly join other sad little keyboard warriors trying to out point each other.

Agreed - totally unnecessary; seems to have brought out the PH internet bullies.
