I know fk all about RR's.
But the TD6 will probably be quite heavy on fuel, and underpowered, and more expensive.
So get the V8.
Or buy a discovery/land crusier and bomb about in the m5.

I really wouldn't buy a Td6. A 3.6 TDV8 is massively better (even though, as you say, the 4.4 TDV8 is a decent step on from that).
Thanks - hoping to look at some over the weekendThis looks utterly fantastic.......just wish it had drei pedals;

Forester : brilliant - with winter tyres they're like little mountain goats. And that one is as ugly. Someone actually chose and paid for that bodykit.

Whats the consensus on a circa 10k L322 Range Rover? That sort of price would get me a post 05 facelift with either TD5 powerplant or the Jag petrol V8. I reckon the TD6 will feel underpowered, but the petrol will be juicy - this will to complement an e39 M5, so I don't really want a second juicy car. The only other option is to spend a bit more and go 3.6 TDV8, but then its a case of budget creep because I know I'll want the 4.4 TDV8 with the 8 speed box on the 2010 facelift
Any help with the conundrum, or indeed any alternative?
Earlier this year I went out looking for an E61, which crept in to an X5, then on to early L322's which ultimately landed me in a 2008, 100000+ mile example.Any help with the conundrum, or indeed any alternative?
At first, I was nervous every time I drove it, listening for every squeak, rattle, bang and wallop because things can get a bit tasty if they go wrong.
Since receiving a hilarious 107,500 mile service quote, I decided to work on the car myself where I can. Mechanically, it's pretty straight forward and a pleasure to work on if you are in to that sort of thing.
The most striking thing is the solidity of the car, the way it glides down the road and the quality of the fixtures and fittings - it's a nice place to be sat.
Corners are not so great but that doesn't really matter. The grunt is handy too, although a friend has the TD6 and it is breathless and is best avoided in my opinion (although he swears by it).
Like any car, just check that all the toys operate, as well as the main oily and pneumatic bits and you should be able to enjoy a very fine car!

The modern psyche appears to be that anything after Halloween is Christmas.
Wrong. It's fking November.
Nothing wrong with looking forward to a celebration where you are given stuff, there's loads of food and drink and you don't have to work Wrong. It's fking November.
(however you are absolutely right but at the same time, this year for some reason, I don't mind.)
