That's an idea.
Big, lardy, nasty.

The smaller GT coupe?
I ran a couple of the GT coupes and they were great cars. No auto option though.
No selespeed?

So very wrong, on every visual level. But I love it. My dirty little secret is out.

That's a fair bit of car for 3 grand odd, but it would be cruel to remove it from its traditional habitat of The North.

I seem to remember the Lexus had a fantastic stereo system at the time.

I think that was its redeeming feature.

Ignoring the styling, what's so bad about them exactly?

Got four fully-grown adults into a Mk1 TT once. Think two of them are still stuck in the back of it now

Don't think they're in budget are they? Plus they are not small per se.
A few about, but upon checking they are E46 ish in scale.
I think a TT is the most likely candidate then, I really rather like them.

In a previous life I bought my Mrs a TT and whilst she obviously adored it, I really rather liked it too.

Bar a few common niggles like thermostats, coil packs and boost hoses, they're built like a barn door. Personally I'd recommend the the 1.8t rather than the 3.2 V6, given that both are almost equally on par performance wise and 1.8t is better on fuel/lighter/cheaper to tax etc.

Underrated cars (obviously #becausehairdresser), but curiously still far classier than the E46. Obviously the TT is no Lotus Elise, but even on the cheap rubber ours came with it was a perfectly fine steer.

Did not realise these were that cheap! I'm disgusted at myself for thinking that I would.

The local ice cream man bought one of these when he sold his round and retired back in the day.

Last trip north I saw one in the services at Lockerbie and I did admire it. If they are what they purport to be then based on my L400 experience I cannot see why it would be a bad idea as a cheap daily. Looks notwithstanding obviously but modern cars have no character anyway...

Edited to add sub 6 to 62. hahahaha love it.
