Never really understood the fascination with these. Ugly bland looking thing, with nasty steering. Yet people seem to fronicate over having a 100hp (isn't it more like 98hp and 100PS??) in one.

Not saying I hate them, but aren't they rather white goods and uninteresting overall?
It's one of those cars you either get, or don't.

I very much get them. Looks are subjective of course, but I think they look great...in a look what they managed to do with some black plastic, chunky wheels and a base model Panda, sort of way.

It's not about the power, which is fortunate as it hasn't got much, it's about the enjoyment you can have from driving it at sensible speeds. I absolutely believe that they wouldn't be any better to drive with twice the power.

In terms of it being uninteresting to drive...in my opinion you couldn't be more wrong.

I got more pleasure driving a Panda 100HP than I did in my previous car, a 420BHP rear wheel drive twin turbo straight six.

I sold mine on Friday and miss it greatly. So much so that I've been looking at what is available on the market. It turns out that there isn't a more sorted car than the one I sold for similar money available...damn!

I agree with Finn.

When i first saw the Grey version on launch in 2007 (Evo magazine helped here too) i knew i had to have one! And i eventually did.

I have to admit that the ride did get the better of me in the end (after a year) But then again....the way the car could take corners...it was amazing.

Miss it a lot.

Mine has gone off with its new owner today. I need something bigger. Its replacement will be newer and a lot faster, but it won't be as much fun. If you 'get' these you really love them.

Always fancied one of these, they just look 'right' in a similar way to a Lupo GTI ...

I am looking for one right now, but not as cheap as I had imagined.

Pity they didn't do a 100HP 4x4

Pity they didn't do a 1.4 litre turbo version

And a pity that Fiat UK didn't promote a Fiat Panda Cup. 130 Bhp from 1.2 litres, bonkers! A 1.4 litre version could have been class leading in the BRC

Why is it a pity? It doesn't need 4wd or a 1.4 turbo.

Great thread... Making my decision a lot easier. One sticking point is suspension (I have a bad back). I'm thinking higher profile tyres, replace the rear bump stops for standard Panda version and Koni shocks. Will this be enough to make the ride bearable? Also what's the ground clearance like over speed humps? My 320d efficient dynamics is constantly scraping its chin/arse on even the mildest speed bump.

You can put 195/50/15 tyres on it, and the Koni SRT.T suspension, which both make a difference but it's never going to be a smooth ride. My bump stops fell off and I never replaced them, wasn't a problem at all.

Ground clearance absolutely fine. It's just a very bumpy, jiggly ride.

Once pressing on the all that gets forgotten though as it's pin sharp turn in and line holding is amazing.

It's not a comfortable daily rideby any means...just a fun b road blaster.

I have a 100 hp Fiat Panda from new, 58 Reg, and with only 28000 on the clock. I bought it after a trip to Italy, and needing a new
car. Hard suspension, but enjoy its space and " perkyness " . Sometimes switch on the sport button !; but then I am 86 !! So I couldn't give this article less than a 10 ? Oh, it is electrosplash grey !

Enjoy! They’re starting to become a much rarer sight nowadays... I did well to sell mine at their lowest value point!

sounds like a good buy given the mileage. colour is important on these. wouldnt say no to a dark grey one.

wonder how many fiat sold in the UK and what the parts supply chain is like ?
