Lotus Exige?
Can you get a decent 997 at this money? (Not checked.)
996 Turbo, but value movements may mean this isn't feasible now
TTRS - had to slide this one in there now I own one. Remap it and it's quicker than anything mentioned in this thread.
Think you need to decide what's most important to you. If it's looks and feeling 'special' then you probably want the Aston or a Porsche. If you want outright speed or exquisite handling then maybe consider others too.

Can definitely get a decent 997 for that - plenty from £20k upwards. A friend had a TTRS - nice enough but there's no way I'd have one over the other options here (no offence to you/your car!).Can you get a decent 997 at this money? (Not checked.)

996 turbo if you want to keep it for a few years. Your bills may be flat when it comes to sell it too.
I do like the 348 idea though and it is quite a looker. The Astons don't really do much for me but there's occasionally an all black AMV8 down the road from me that does look great. Depends what you clasify as special but you'll have fun deciding I'm sure.

Had a 996turbo for 6months. Didn't gel with it. Very fast but not for me.I do like the 348 idea though and it is quite a looker. The Evora or AM V8V for me! However as I'm somewhat of a Lotus enthusiast, and I was lucky enough to drive an Evora for just over a fortnight, I'd have the Evora ... with a louder exhaust
As Zoobeef said, what about a Noble M12?
For me it was/is the Evora, with a tubular exhaust. As Zoobeef said, what about a Noble M12?
It's been my daily driver for a year and is not yet tiresome. About to buy a newer one as I put 20k miles a year on it.

I should add, I'd be very happy to spend less if I can find something with a good blend of special and a modicum of reliability!
NA Evora. Best mix of comfort, sound, feel with the road. Good on track without costing a bomb on brakes and tyres.Edited by blueg33 on Monday 26th January 09:30
Go with your heart - plus despite the potential running costs it's probably the safest place for you money depreciation wise.
It's definitely where my cash would go if it were a weekend plaything - stunning looks, great sound, performance and handling perfectly adequate if you aren't planning to compete in any events, and that je ne sais quoi which will make the ownership all the more special

Aston - get it bought! I had a similar dilemma last year when I got mine and haven't looked back since. It's a great car and every journey feels special. They are generally reliable cars and hopefully towards the bottom end of their depriciation curve. Services aren't as bad as you may think and can be negotiated even at main dealers. Only downside is the savage thirst for petrol, but when it sounds this good you'll forgive it!

Try the V8V and then try one of these, the Aston knocks the 911 hollow for looks but to drive...no contest.
