How did the old one compare price-wise?
Think the base on was £25k, so about £4-5k more than the ST3.
Current ST3 is £26k, so £30k is a real possibility i reckon ...

Ford Finance figures for the ST3 are:

COST PRICE £26,295
36 PAYMENTS OF £338.83
DEPOSIT ALLOWANCE £1,500.00
CUSTOMER DEPOSIT £2,500.00
OPTIONAL FINAL PAYMENT £12,329.00
APR 4.3%

Add 15-20% onto each and you're looking at £400-450 a month on 3 year PCP?

Did anyone actually ever pay RRP?

I'd put money on £32-33k seeing as the FWD, lower powered Civic is in the same bracket with the higher specced model.

Drivers car or not it will unfortunately be pounced on within minutes by people that would be considered a bit council. frown

I would say the German brands are more aspirational to those lower down the social strata these days, Audis werent on the radar twenty years ago, was all Fords and Vauxhalls and maybe the odd BMW but nowadays its all about the "German Whip".

Well they've increased the price already!

Must have taken a lot more orders than expecting.

They did the same last time, pure marketing, initial low price to announce.

That looks brilliant. Is that just the concept, I thought they weren't doing a blue?

Underwhelming was the first thought in my head.

Should be a hoot to drive though.

I like the direction they've gone - some extra details added, but not the full space thrusters and weirdness of the new CTR (not that I don't like the CTR, but I think the Focus wouldn't suit it as well)

I think it's the 5 doors which isn't doing it for me. Same with the Golf R. Are 3 door hatches reducing in popularity or something? Do they even offer a 3dr RS?

Nope. No 3 door Focus. Yet, the Fiesta ST is only a 3 door, not a 5 door (although I think they do 5 door STs in other markets)

Renault went 5 door with the Clio...

It's purely cost cutting, making a 3 door platform that doesn't sell as well as the 4 means eating into profits
And then all the competition follow in that cost cutting

Booo!

I've always had hatches in 3dr flavour as I prefer the lines. Oh well, maybe it's time I embraced some extra doors, which I have no need of!

One day we may end up with the choice of 'a car' which has 'an engine' in it.
