However hard they try with fancy paint jobs, spoilers & stickers a Ford will always be a blue-collar council estate car. Nobody who has made a success of their lives would want one on their gravel driveway.
So are you saying that people that drive a Ford Focus haven't made a success of there life hehe
It's that or the fact they have no creative though as to buying a better car for the money. Either way, very council.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry

I'm not sure anyone can be this much of a plank. Oh yes, WJNB can. You'd me missing what i suspect is a very fine car with that attitude. Personally nothing against council estates, nothing against ford and nothing against the image of the car. Everything against bigots who do

I could go out and finance a flash car to impress the neighbours, fact is i'd still be a postie.

You can to any army/marine barracks and there are a lot of nice cars there too.

I would say the German brands are more aspirational to those lower down the social strata these days, Audis werent on the radar twenty years ago, was all Fords and Vauxhalls and maybe the odd BMW but nowadays its all about the "German Whip".

what on earth, i hope you are being sarcastic, I for one am putting my name down for a new RS, which im going to park on my gravel driveway and drive to my skilled technical job, and then onto waitrose.I do hope my middle class parents dont mind it being parked near their BMW when i visit their gravel drive.

Yeah, we have a Fiesta as one of our three, no need to go into details but we have ticked off a few middle class boxes, my parents did well, we have done alright and I dont see a Ford as somehow beneath me and some idea of my lofty status, just another punter making a living and I buy the things I like, not what I think I should have, in fact I like to go the other way a bit, our road doesnt need any more SUVs or black diesel Golfs.

Seems to be a Focus RS thing, as the first one took a very long time too. Its WD even changed from 4 to F before being finally released

A lot of guys on the fiesta ST owners forum have done this with theirs, you can't tell ... if that makes sense but when side by side with a standard one the gloss black looks very nice.

The first Focus RS has now rolled off the production line in Saarlouis, Germany

A new era for fast Fords is dawning with the start of production of the new Focus RS performance hatch.

Among models driving demand are the all-new Focus RS, the first of which has just rolled off the production line in Saarlouis, Germany

Good stuff, funny how all these anti Ford folk wont buy it because its not German, and its built in German biggrin probably a lot more German than quite a Few Mercs and BMW's which get built in all sorts of places.

Seems strange that someone waited so long to build another Scooby/Evo though.

Although reading between the lines, that Autocar review doesn't tell us anything new from when they did the passenger rides.

There's a press embargo until 16.00 GMT (apparently) so expect more online reviews then.
