More to the point, why does PH allow her the opportunity to use this site as a promotional tool and prevent others from doing the same?
They aren't.

I'm simply commenting on what happened. That's allowed. I'm not promoting (eg advertising deals etc). I haven't posted any links.

Anyone can comment, even Mike Brewer. He's welcome to join.

Why are you bringing your corporate dramas to pistonheads?

Great advertising for you, but really no one else does and there are many who have companies here who could do the same, but don't. So why do you?

Exactly.

I'm lost too. I can't work out who's saying what to whoever. I'm 43 by the way and don't do twitter, facebook or any of that stuff.
I suspect that is because you are an adult, rather than a teenager / celebrity obsessed gimp / chav mong.
Nothing more chav than being proud not to understand/learn something. wink

Twitter is pretty damn good so long as you have nothing to do with any of the celebrity aspect. All celebrities are mong magnets.

But using it to follow subjects that you are interested in is very good.

It's a huge collection of clubs but why sane, intelligent people then go and join the clubs that are full of people too thick to get into a Yates Wine Lodge is beyond me.
+1 on that - I am 52 BTW which seems pretty old by PH standards, so you don't need to be a young whipper snapper to understand Twitter - you just have to have a few minutes and set aside a bit of prejudice.

Yes, I am a sympathetic supporter. I love the way Ling challenges the status quo and says what she thinks. Makes me laugh too.

LV: "Mike can I use your photo?"
MB: "Do and receive a cease and desist."

Is Brewer aware that all he has to do is post up a photo of himself with a tin of custard to slam dunk this?

Not when I am threatened with having my business closed down by a D-List TV bully, publicly. Who promotes a "cheeky chappy" image on TV, and then says this sort of stuff.

That's a bit out of order, nasty at the very least, don'cha think?

I have 10 staff who don't like to hear my business will be closed down. To put them out of their misery (like wounded kittens) I may have to sack them first. Their moaning does my head in smile

Hang on a minute, Ling. Never mind the Mike Brewer response for just a moment. To my (possibly naive) eyes, the above tweet looks pretty neutrally worded. I'm a fan of what you do, but it looks like you've generated more publicity for a startup no one's ever heard of when a few polite words may have worked more in your favour.

Genuine question, meant politely: Why do you feel it's correct to respond angrily to RMCD instead of engaging with it positively, or even ignoring it? (You were clearly upset by the timing and a feeling that people were "digging for dirt", but is it possible you're reading too much into it?)

I only know one thing from personal experience with Mike Brewer:

I went up in a helicopter with him once while he filmed a piece to camera. My colleague did such a disgusting fart that the helicopter pilot had to do an emergency landing and Mike had to abandon his filming. True story.

Mike seemed nice enough.

Love the website BTW Ling.

Re: Mike Brewer - I always assumed he would probably be OK in RL, just a bit of a cock on TV. Like many people, seems he is just a bit of a cock.

I guess there is some history between them - I'm sure Brewer would be quite pleasant if I actually met him - and that is bringing out his cockish behaviour in this instance.

ETA - I would like to add that I still watch & enjoy MBs TV programmes

This is the problem with Twitter and the internet in general though. You don't actually know Mike Brewer or Ling but people seem to draw conclusions from a very limited amount of information.

What we have here is a couple of tweets between two people, one side of that argument on here putting her side across (and gaining publicity and no doubt more hits on her website) and a band wagon of people who for whatever reason have decided they don't like Mike Brewer.

Using this as confirmation of your view of Mike, which was oringinally based on once talking to someone who knew a person who'd walked his dog, spoken to his nephew, or some stupid view about labour costs on Wheeler dealers etc isn't particularly logical and says more about the people holding the view than it does about Mike Brewer.

Is this thread still struggling along then?
Embarrassingly, yes.

So far it can be whittled down to the following points:-

'I like Ling and hate Brewer'
'I find Brewer amusing'
'old aht yer 'and'
'How dare you suggest you can't do twitter'
'How dare you suggest I'm 236 years old'
'How dare you suggest twitter is for teenage chav mongs (I especially liked that bit) for trolling purposes'
'How dare Mike Brewer be on the tellybox'

I explained it. Because it is owned by a large Italian company who deliberately waited until 10pm Sunday night to dig for dirt about me, bothering my customers for responses... then pretended they were owned by "a youngster" who was wounded by my reaction. That's (the ownership) a pure lie.

They (RMCD) don't have a website, have no way for anyone to verify who they are or who is behind them. Yet they take every opportunity to ask customers to "expose" me, in a backhand way when they think they can get away with it (10pm Sunday). Hence my response.

How many time I need to explain that?

No more.

I'd never heard of Lingscars until just now. Holy Crap! that website should have a warning on it, if I was epileptic I would have had a full blown fit looking at that, it makes Las Vegas look low key.
