I've been using Mobil1 0w-40 for many years (usually bought in Halfords "20% off" sales, or from Opie) and sometimes wonder whether I own an Esso petrol station by now!

Anyway, it seems the decision wasn't all bad. Modern synthetic lubricants are extraordinary things.

PS If your car deserved expensive oil when it was new it certainly deserves expensive oil when it gets older!
