Which "hyperhatch" would you most like to own?

To be fair, with my hypothetical 30-40k neither would I (probably several cheaper cars for different purposes). However, as a one car to do it all type prospect, one of these cars would be quite appealing. Out of interest, what would others call a hatchback with over 300bhp? Maybe, I should have gone to "superhatch" before going to "hyperhatch" but that's a bit close to "supermini" (a generally accepted term for a Fiesta-sized shopping car). Back in the day, I don't seem to remember cars like the Escort RS Cosworth and Lancia Delta Integrale being classed as hot hatches (a hot hatch was something like a 205 or Golf GTi).
Does this 'HyperHatch' term only apply to BHP irrespective of performance? I'm still confused on this new fantastic category of cars. The civic isn't confirmed to be > 300hp, so if its in, so should the golf & S3. A45 should be in as it is more powerful than the focus and civic IIRC.
Whats sad is that all the cars pictured are 5 door, imho hot hatches should be 3 door.
Focus & Civic are ugly, RS3 is, well, a bit Audi.
Ferrari wins!

Are they bringing out a fiesta RS? That should be interesting if so.
Would that not compete with the Focus ST?http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/ford/fiesta/85091/siz...
I'm not particularly a fan of the term "hyper" (hence the "") but at the same time, I can't see how a Suzuki Swift Sport with (125bhp?) can be compared to a c.370 bhp Audi RS3. It's stupid to say that a car with 299bhp is a hot hatch and a car with 300bhp is a "hyper" hatch but what other criteria could you use? Price? I don't think that anyone would disagree that a Focus ST is a hot hatch but the Focus RS is quite a different proposition in terms of power, price and traction. The hottest Leons/Meganes are sailing close to 300bhp but not such a big step up compared to their lesser brethren, so still hot hatches in my opinion. I merely used the term to identify the type of car (latest breed of fast hatch) that I was talking about, rather than to spark a debate about a definition and whether it exists or not!

What if you have children? Or friends? One thing that really wound me up when I got a Type R back in 2004 was everytime someone got in the back the seat reset it's self, plus the longer doors are a pita when trying to get out in a car park. TheJimi said:
If I was spending "hyperhatch" money, I wouldn't be buying a "hyperhatch".
Indeed this leaves plenty change for a pretty good night of hookers, drugs and boozehttp://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/a...

So that means the Fiesta RS will be released just after the next Capri or Puma....

I have had my AMG A45 for just over a month I am very pleased with it.
I am glad I bought it but I do not like the term hyper hatch.
why I went for the AMG because it is a great package and you do not have to drive it like you stole it all time because you know what it can deliver.
It is quite understated the only time it stands out if you hit the loud pedal then it sounds great.

Of the original list I'd be looking a the Honda or Ford, despite the lack of details, the VAG cars just don't excite me, at all, maybe on launch the Ford and Honda will be similarly boring and middle of the road - but I seriously doubt it.
