I should imagine restraint and respect need to be fairly well observed with something like an Ultima, it is the perfect storm of a car that gives the unwary opportunities to come a cropper, light weight, massive power, huge grip, mid engined and no driver aids whatsoever.

I would imagine that you drive one and it doesn't seem that scary until you get cocky/blase ?

Can you actually give it much stick on the road ?

I got a heavy roll of the eyes from the missus when I shouted out "that's an Ultima!". No taste that woman smile

Your date seemed like a nice enough girl. Not one of the usual shallow Barbies. Also noticed with the asian guy from Belfast, his date had bigger shoulders than him (almost) and I couldn't decide if she just really liked him or was prone to overcook the odd rabbit.

Saturday night dross tv is one of the downsides of having a girlfriend/wife.

I like Paddy so that makes it a guilty pleasure for me. Ant and Dec not so much.

Yeah, I know what you mean, it is why I end up aware of what is going on Celebrity Big Brother.

I am just allowed to watch Top Gear once a week if I am a good boy, as long of course as she can sit there tutting all the way through and saying how they need to give up as they are too old, it is so predictable and lame, it is as if I script it, she seems to think I am a disciple of Clarkson, then I catch her laughing at something on it or ogling the SIARPC.

I dont know about anyone else, but all programmes we watch tend to be recorded rather than watching them live. Skip adverts and get to see them when we've got the time to watch

You just know he's a PHer, he ticked all the right boxes.

Edit: I knew it, as soon as he said he likes to dress up as the stig when out and about and felt the need to mention that his car does 240mph I said to the Mrs "Yep clearly a PHer".

Bravo

The engine in this one was tested to 9000 rpm if you get that the mathematics at top speed size of wheels gearbox etc is 304mph if it did it I would st myself. Fastest I have been is 210mph and that was like warp speed then got bored as its nothing like going round a track!
Some people slate the ultima's and I don't know why. Ok there not very practical. But is a formula 1 or a Le mans race car?
And which cars at there level have £600 insurance?

Not to mention this one is aluminum everything and weighs 900kgs
Porsche, Ferrari Astons are all 1200 kgs as British gt series min weight is 1200kgs I think

But it's some aire time for ultima and I'm proud to get the Stig out on an itv prime time show

On top of that. I'm full of smiles just to get out in it!

Us car enthusiasts all respect others pride and joy and there is some stunning examples out there but the ultima has definitely got the curves in the right places 😝😝😝😝
Can't belive I said it on tv

Yeah I give it the beans! It does take hard dicipline and been extremely observant as when at high speeds it's not the speed your going it's the distance your covering so cars come up so fast you fart and run into them so eyes like lazers!

I love piston heads been on here a long while but don't come on that often. It was easier to say 240 mph as that's what was in my script but the car I'd say would do it but I'd run out of fuel first the 6.5 liter nascar racing engine isn't shy of drinking!
The noise would make your ears bleed first but the sound of a carburettor V8 on fuel overload is like listening to porn!
The girl was nice as I said nice things, not the typical type I go for as my ex's are ten times better looking but we shared a passion for horses so I ride 1 horsepower things and then 700 hp things.
Ultima loved the show as the car looked the shizzle and dressing up as the Stig.... Well I use to do Motorsport when I was younger. But it keeps me popular as us fuel filled ph'ers happy too!
I'm a down to earth guy that's polite they just dressed me up like a tool and wasn't impressed! I'd have rather come on in my Stig outfit than what was wearing

My initial thoughts were what a tit, wait hold on he drives what, plays polo and he's a gas engineer Somethings not right here.

BuT after you have explained just how the show is i realise that my views are heavily swayed to think just that and it's probably not a true reflection on the individual present.

All said. I'd have taken the ginger on the left. Claire I think.

Women seem to have this irritating habit of demanding absolute silence from you, when they are watching one of their mindless soap operas, but as soon as anything you want to see, like building a car, or a documentary comes on, they want to start yapping.
If you point out that you were good enough to avoid talking during one of `their' programs. so it would be nice if they did the same during one of `your' programs. they get all huffy and make statements like ` so a crappy documentary is more important than talking to me! Ah it`s a funny old world smile

Had this just the other day with Top Gear. So I paused it (iPlayer) and put the TV back on.

She asks what I'm doing? I said well I can't hear it properly so let's just watch E4 - The Big Bang Theory was on. All stroppy I get "Fine I'll be quiet" and a strop lol.

I was discussing this with my mates and they seem to have simile problems. Silence for celebrity nonsense, or a soap. Ask to put a film on and then they start talking/not following the film.

Am I the Stig.....

Can't answer that one I'm afraid!

Did I bang them you ask???

Nope as we were followed round like children so the thought of getting a bulge would be on tv and if you sneaked into their room you was removed by security!
It was worse than big brother as at least on big brother some get some action!

I'm a normal everyday guy from a good backround in Motorsport and polo and was made to look a fool but I'll hold my head high and always keep my dignity!

That's TV for you - it's never like the viewer imagines it to be
Well done for stepping up and doing it. life's short, so have a laugh and enjoy it
Car looked good too
