I always liked the old Turnbulls petrol station in Plymouth city centre. I can remember filling up my Suzuki TS125 and my mini 850 there, but it's sadly long gone in favour of an ugly Staples building.

This was a working petrol station in Abbots Bromley until fairly recently, not sure what's become of it now as I haven't been by for a while.

Quite a cool one from Grampound in Cornwall, when you're stepped back in street view you see the old petrol station complete with pumps...

One step forward shows it as the car sales a garage it is now!!

Also, this one near Camborne was open right up to the 90's despite the fact that it was rendered pretty much obsolete by the new dual carriageway that bypassed it completely in the late 60's! It's been for sale for the best part of 20 years!!

I didn't expect to see that! I shall pay it a visit on my way back from Penzance KFC. There are a few classic examples out past Penzance as well. I will endeavour to get some photos.

It's just next to Polstrong farm shop! You don't happen to live in North Country do you?

Here's a little petrol vending machine that was just a short distance from the villa I was staying at in Thailand.

No, lived in Camborne and currently inhabiting Hayle. And I very much enjoy rattling along the Roseworthy Road.

There are loads around here in the villages, these are some that spring to mind:

Aldwincle garage, in the next village to me. It is owned by my mate's uncle.
It made the news in the late 80's when he was foolishly welding a petrol tank and it exploded!
He was burnt really badly, but ran back in to shut off the pumps which stopped them going up too.

Its so small the ramps are outside:

Petrol station and Ford dealership in Oundle, the fuel is still attendant service (useless fact: Derek who serves has been there since at least the early 90's, thats his red Golf)

Elton garage, still in use

Raunds, which has a tiny forecourt! The van on the left is parked on the side of the road

One of my favourites, on the high street in Olney

I know all of these Garages very well as I come from Raunds and done my apprenticeship at Gells. The shop was real old school and it had that smell that only vintage car parts and stuff has.

Wenvoe, north of Barry in South Glamorgan. In the Google Street View from last year the Megane is in the same position but without the rocks.

As I took the picture, at about 6:45 one morning last week, a bloke sidled up to me and asked if I was buying the garage. I got as far as, "Er, no, I'm taking a picture for a thread on a motoring website..." and I could tell he was losing interest.

I drive past this one regularly, it's near Avonwick, on the road between Totnes & Plymouth.

Always has prices way over the odds, and the shop never looks like there's someone in there, but I'm presuming it's still open because the prices still change

Know the garage and the area - friend used to live nearby.

Always wanted a Riley/Wolseley 1.5/1500 - looks great!
