RE: Zenos E10 S: Driven

Has anyone else that has ordered one been told about delays in production? I have mine on order and after I paid my 50% second payment was told that there is a delay of about a month. I understand that when producing a new vehicle there are inevitable delays, but I have not seen anyone else commenting on this.
By the way, I'm 6'4" and had no issues. I was very comfortable and could push the car as much as I dared on wet roads. I am so looking forward to getting delivery of my car.
Yes. My build has been delayed twice (Originally quoted a March build, subsequently delayed to April build, now May build). No reasons stated. I'm not particularly worried or surprised. The Zenos team has really been on a fast track to get the E10 ready and it's not surprising that a few delays are creeping in.By the way, I'm 6'4" and had no issues. As I may have said elsewhere, they've done a remarkable job to start delivering cars within a few weeks of their original plan, at the promised price, and meeting the weight and performance targets. Especially considering how often new manufactures make ambitious announcements that are late, overpriced, and underperform.I'm hopping to get mine before the end of July, but won't be too gutted if it's later than that. I'd rather they take as long as they need to get everything right.
This afternoon I got to drive the E10 S in a spirited manner on the B roads of Leicestershire. It really is a properly fast car, accelerating almost like a sportsrbike. The chassis gives you the immediate confidence to drive as fast as the road will allow, and feels like it has an enormous amount of grip. The roads were not the worst example, but the car has clearly been designed with the poor state of most British tarmac in mind.
The weight of the un-assisted brake pedal takes a little getting used to but everything else about it feels just right. Intuitive. Even the position of the gearlever, which looks quite high, falls naturally to hand when you're driving.
I was surprised how effective the windscreen is at keeping turbulence away from the occupants, even at speed.
The noise made by the dump valve every time you lift off the throttle is very entertaining, although I think it might get annoying if you're not in the mood for it.
If you've got any interest in light weight sports cars you really should give the E10 a try.

Following on from SpudLink, I got to drive the E10 S in Petersfield, Hampshire last weekend. Echoing his comments, It is epically fast, as fast as my Daytona 675R, and the acceleration to match.
The handling is like a go kart, no power steering at all, there is real old school weight and feedback through the wheel. It gave you complete confidence when on the road, the hard ride seemed to make light work of the bumpy country roads, the turn in is crisp and the cornering ability and grip is monumental as you would expect from a car that weights 700kg.
The noise from the intake and the dumpvalve is initially grin worthy but wear on you and you will not be talking to anybody above 40mph!
The windscreen worked too!
I hated the break pedal - this and the lack of doors/windows make it just too focused - fine if you are looking for this - but this makes a Lotus / VX220 look sensible!
An amazingly focused and capable car - just a little too focused for me!

So my car is ready and they have sent me some pics. What are people's thoughts on my little E10s in its monochrome get-up?
Have you ordered it without the windscreen? I thought I was the only one.
It will have a windscreen by the time it gets to me. As they are removable I thought I should get one as it'll make it a bit more usable more of the time... but you can still undress it if you fancy wearing a helmet!
I've been joking with Ansar that he'll add this as a colour... I guess we'll see.

SpudLink - I've not bothered ordering a screen either, been riding bikes all my life so I thought I'd try it without the screen first.
The monochrome looks great, although i'm leaning towards Screamin' Green...
I test drove this car (the one from the article) on Sunday morning whilst the Zenos team were at Sevens & Classics Summerlude event at Brands Hatch. I currently have a K-Series R300 SV, so went along as a bought the car from S&C fairly recently.
I thought the styling was great, and whilst taking a closer look Emma from Zenos asked if i'd like to take a test drive. It would've been rude not to.
I love turbo noises, and within 30 seconds I was grinning like a cheshire cat!!! I was later told that in this development car the airbox has been relocated and that current production models are even louder!! I'd say leave the airbox where it is; one of the things I liked so much about the Atom was the induction/supercharger in your left ear.
I'm in discussions about placing an order, just need to shift the R300 at a reasonable price first - possible going back to S&C. So if you see a Gulf coloured R300 SV for sale at S&C in the coming weeks, you'll know I've placed my order with Zenos for the E10S...
Just to add, I'd emailed Emma and spec'ed a car on the configurator. An hour later I got a phone call from Ansar to talk through my requirements. How many car companies would do that?

Ansar is very good at the customer relationship side of things. When I first contacted Zenos it was just to enquire about the plans for the forthcoming E12. Ansar answered the phone himself, which was a surprise.
He never gives the impression of being to busy to give you as much time as you need to discuss any issue.

I placed and order at Silverstone several weeks ago, I had previously ordered one of the first cars but could not take delivery this year. Ansar shared you colour scheme, this is the first time I have seen it and the stealth look is very cool, would you mind sharing some more pictures as I am considering the same. I have also toyed with full black but this may be too much.

I'm just back from a 3300 mile round trip to France in mine, had a great time, surprisingly comfortable little car, even without a windscreen.
We took in three trackdays at Paul Ricard, Le Luc and Ledenon - well worth the trip if you get the chance.

What did you do about luggage?
Very nice article CF, thanks -- well worth the read!
The owners however are probably having too much fun driving . Perhaps they will have some time to post with winter slowly creeping in? Really hope Zenos can manage a nice and steady growth. Perhaps they can even think of small volume type approval when the E11/E12 are ready?
Would make it a lot easier and cheaper to get the things on the road in Europe... Exchange rate isn't helping -- A 10S with comfort pack and a screen seems to be around € 56k. More than I can afford, still very good value compared to say an XBow.
