Probably not because you traded one anonymous hatchback for another smaller one though.
I don't get what you mean? I haven't bought the up.. I have since returned it and have my own car back now. The auto box in it is so bad, the salesman even said I can't believe people actually buy it!!chrisb92 said:
Put my well specced Golf in for its first MOT today and have been given an Up! as a courtesy car. My God, it's tragic. It's a 15 plate and has the definition of a poverty spec auto gearbox! Other features it lacks are there isn't a single button on the steering wheel, can't even change the sound of the radio on it! Cloth interior, can only adjust the window of the drivers side, I have to lean over to press the button for the passenger. No arm rest. NO auto lights. NO auto windscreen wipers. I won't even go into how slow the thing is.
The only possible box I can imagine that may have been ticked was the one for alloys, although they are about 13", so nothing special!!!
Surely the lease company will need to worry about your Golf's first MOT, not you?The only possible box I can imagine that may have been ticked was the one for alloys, although they are about 13", so nothing special!!!

My Dad has got an UP! He has had a great legacy of cars over the years but he's now nearly 75 and just wants a small car. I've drove his car on a few occasions and I personally think it's a brilliant car. I think you may have made an unfair summary of it by comparing it to your well specced Golf. The idea of the UP! is just be a simple manoeuvrable car and not a motorway mile muncher. So it's not a "poverty spec auto box" but simply not a very good one (as they tend not to be in small engined cars)?Number 5 said:

Very fair point! I hd an UP! last time and it was fine, this one just seemed to be worse and to be honest my main beef was with the auto box!http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1986-MERCEDES-200t-w124-...
A revival of the thread for this stunner.
Fuel Injection? No
Auto box? No
Electric Windows? None
Stereo? No
Metallic Paint? No
The list goes on (or perhaps doesn't)
I love it.

I know it should be left standard, Part of me would love to fit a Cosworth engine though.
