What I noticed with a poor alignment before, they heated up the track rod ends to free them, adjusted tracking so it was perfect, track rods cool down, alignment goes out...

Never had any issues with Kwik Fit, I had a full alignment (camber, toe, tracking) done to my supllied specs last week. The car feels superb and they did a great job!!

ive been doing my own tracking with a for a couple of years now. paid for itself the 2nd time i used it.

its not perfect, but it lets me play with various settings to see what it feels like and how it affects the handling smile

the main issue is that you wont get proper 4 wheel alignment, and you'll spend an eternity adjusting and re-adjusting to get it set with the steering wheel perfectly level... aggggghh!!

With your location in mind, it's worth making a trip to ALine in Dudley. http://www.alineyourcar.co.uk/

Brilliant blokes, well priced, and hugely knowedgeable. They've done about 5 cars for me. They do everything from normal road car setups to full motorsport jobs.
I'm near Straford-Upon-Avon and make the journey every time.
Very good value too, it's about £40 for just front and rear toe, and £60 for more complex (ie. camber, caster and toe) setup.
Well worth the journey.

They don't do bookings, so it's a queueing system, so worth getting there early on the weekends smile
these guys x 1,000,000
cheapest by a mile and definitely the best. i'd never go anywhere else

Yeah so they can inform you that the tyres have worn on the inside and you need a new set
I can use my eyes to see if they're lying!!

And I've used these guys too. As others have said, great guys, and you can watch (unlike Kwik Fit).

QF tried to do my P38 range rover on thier hunter. Made a complete mess of it - steering wheel was misaligned and it pulled to one side they fiddled around more, but still not right.

Took it to another national garage chain and he declared that the suspension was shot and couldnt be aligned due do a tiny amount of movement in the bushes.

I bought my own laser aligner for £220 and did it myself. Crucially, I read up and took the tine to centrer the steering box to the steering wheel before starting (there's a calibration marker) and I now how a P38 that now drives perfectly straight. (Ive owned 3 p38's and all of then have pulled to the left)

I used kwik-fit for a four wheel alignment as they have my closest hunter machine.

Didn't have any issues, apart from them trying to sell me tyres and brake pads.
