Ariel Atom at Woodbridge Airfield: PHTV

Multi-view onboard shows how crazed a hard-charging Atom can be whichever way you look at it

Even if you've never been in one you'll likely know the experience of driving an Ariel Atom is somewhat unhinged, not to mention demanding of a fair amount of skill. All of the above are demonstrated in this PHer video - our thanks for sending it in!

I thought the throttle pedal was gonna go through the floor at one point.
Good bit of footwork too.

30s of adverts is a put-off, but when the player crashes leaving you looking at the ad only it's too much.

PHTV sucks.

Atoms always look like a handful, but in such a brilliant way, I'd imagine after all the sliding, wrestling and soiling yourself you'd probably get out of the car grinning like a crazed lunatic. Must drive one some day.

Great video, thanks for sharing.

I assume he's showing off for the camera...? If that's really how it handles, suggest a bit of set-up on dampers and tyre pressures required.

Yep. Looks like he was hooning a bit. Thought the James May stripy sweater was a nice touch too.
I test drove an Atom 300 on the IoM Southern Hundred circuit some years ago. To be honest, on open public roads it was too intimidating to get on top of. On a wide open track would be more fun, but the driving in that was impressive to watch, even if he was showboating a bit clap
