I'm guessing the way the tyre turns most of the time.

So my front tyres should have arrows pointing towards the rear of the vehicle yeah?

When the arrow is at the top of the tyre it should be pointing towards the front of the vehicle.

Shouldn't you turn tyres around, so they point in the correct direction?

some days they point forwards, some days backward, some days up some days down

If you don't turn your tyres round when reversing then you will need to inform your insurance company.

Easy. Steering wheel is an 'inside'; road wheels are an 'outside'.

It's not the inside/outside aspect I was referring to, look at the tyre tread. To some people the tread direction going backwards on one side looks wrong yet it apparently has no impact on the tyre performance.

I think you are confusing 'directional' tyres, as referred to in the heading of the thread, and 'asymmetric' tyres.
