Now they've opened up the taps again and there are still moans and groans, Personally I applaud Honda for offering something a bit 'out there' and aimed their expertise to driving engagement and enjoyment in this day and age and giving us a gear stick.
IT wasn't the styling of the FN2 that angered the Type R fans, it was the decontented engineering. Torsion beam rear suspension just compounded the addition of Macpherson struts over wishbones in the EP3. And the increase in weight (nearly 150kg on the GT) over the EP3 made it uncompetitive. The actual styling was just fine. No more or less outlandish than the EK9 and EP3. This is just monstrous. Now they've opened up the taps again and there are still moans and groans, Personally I applaud Honda for offering something a bit 'out there' and aimed their expertise to driving engagement and enjoyment in this day and age and giving us a gear stick.

The styling is so different from each angle I can't say if I like it or not, it's certainly unique.
its like different people designed the front and rear, if it had large blistered rear arches to match the front it might of looked like less of a cut and shut.
What could have been...its like different people designed the front and rear, if it had large blistered rear arches to match the front it might of looked like less of a cut and shut.
What we got...
The concept is just so much more cohesive than the production model. It's bold, yet looks a complete car.

Does not sound like it is a great product ,pity as one of the best parts of the v tec was its screaming noise this has been lost in this new model which has come 3 years too late golf r and focus rs moving game on with 4 wheel drive for better traction for big tuning potential, hope they don,t screw up new nsx.
I totally disagree; the VTEC scream to my ears sounded bloody awful and while it was clearly an engineering marvel, in all iterations of VTEC powered cars I've been in they all felt absolutely gutless. Lots of noise and not much go, least with the increased torks this might actually feel quick. As I said in another thread though, it looks like a teenagers wet dream.
"From around 6,000rpm when the VTEC's high lift lobes take over until the limiter cuts in at 8,500rpm the NSX emits a sound that's probably best described as a cross between a roar and a wail. It is quite simply aural ecstasy for petrolheads and it's a pity we didn't grab an MPEG to go with this report because it must rate as one of the best road car soundtracks ever"
The 240bhp Mugen Civic also sounded pretty good to my ears, certainly better than my R26-R "blare"

Don't agree. I love my FN2. I used to own a DC2, go figure pal. Ever driven one? Definitely not boring or slow. Better than the EP3 I drove. But hey, Clarkson knows everything eh?Ali_T said:

Agreed, but if it had gone into production looking like that my guess would be it'd be nearer £40k. It does look so much better though. What we got...
