Goodwood FoS 2015 - Liveblog and livefeed

A chat with Christian Horner; deafened by drifters and lost seeking out rally cars

As garden parties go Lord March's remains pretty much the ultimate for those of a petrolhead persuasion. Apparently there's a music festival going on in a field somewhere this weekend too but we know where we'd rather be...

To that end here is the PH Goodwood liveblog where we'll be reporting back on the various happenings from Goodwood. There's even a livefeed from the event embedded below so you can keep up with all the action and the PH team will be reporting and Tweeting from throughout the event - keep an eye on the hashtag #PHFoS2015. For archived updates click here.

1930h, a long way from Goodwood
For fear of being stuck in hours of traffic, I left a little early today. Attempts to reach the rally stage failed as I refused to wait for the tractor and got very lost traipsing round trying to get there late on. I must see it another year; another one to catch up with via video...

Would have looked even better on the stage...
Would have looked even better on the stage...
There will be a full story on a round table interview with Christian Horner soon, but it proved a revealing and enjoyable chat. He has some really interesting ideas for F1's future, is realistic about Red Bull's prospects and is just a very likeable man face to face. And no, he wasn't asked about Geri Haliwell...

The rest of the day was spent resisting the temptation to buy model cars, ogling the Cartier concours lawn and then catching as much as possible on the hill. The drifters were magnificent, adding even more drama and noise to an event that never appeared to want in that area. The line up of Porsche Le Mans stuff was pretty special too, from 917 to 911 GT1 (the 919 was on the hill at this point). And there were the V10 F1 cars, the racing pick ups, the, er, Bastos Rover SD1... I really must spend the full weekend there in future.

More pics to follow soon, and don't forget the live feed runs all weekend!

Matt

Reference the Lotus hashtag - #ITSNOTFORYOU I see what they wanted to do but you're right it comes across completely wrong, should have been more like #PROBABLYNOTFORYOU or #LIKELYNOTFORYOU.

I'll be there for my first weekend visit in ten years, preferring Thursday & Friday for the lesser crowd levels. Should be fun (well as fun as can be had with a 4 year old in tow!)

there was general wincing at the sight of the Mazda 787B stuffed into the bales after the inevitable Molecomb crash
99% sure it was the 767b, not the 787b.

0-60 3 secs, 450hp, 900kg, £80k, limited edition, low depreciation - if any. Good recipe.

Just spent time I shouldn't have looking at the FOS live feed when I should be finishing a report.... Top work PH - especially that Juke getting up the hill entirely on 2 wheels only...

Spent a great day at FoS on Friday. Big disappointment that the Style and Luxe entries do not go up the hill. Would love to see someone take the 1907 Vindec Special 5hp with Wicker Bath Chair up the hill - with a suitably terrified passenger wink.

The coverage on Motors atm is excellent - young Jan Marldenborough?? has been superb in the commentary box.

Love the alpine A110s. And Rossi, what a star.

Does anyone know where I can see a replay of the drifters in action?
