deposits not being taken until Monday and by this time there maybe more information available. TVR is being run by a much better outfit, infact it probably in its best position in its history. so lets wait and see what may or may not be released on Monday along with the ability to put a deposit down before we all get on our little soap boxes.

And, each to there own, i cannot afford a new TVR but if i could? who knows. Those that can and will put deposit down good on them. And do people seriously think that the odd £2,500 here and £5,000 there is really going to bankrole a multi million pound venture of this scale!!!

^ those were my thoughts too.

However, it would be nice to see a bit more before committing a deposit, which I would be more than interested to do. Now then, where's my cheque book...

Bloody grumpy lot.Fingers crossed. Please build the speed 12. I want to see something utterly mad that makes me grin from ear to ear.

Maybe they can play on the unique Britishness of the car and really crack the foreign market.

Hopefully it will be of a carbon fibre construction with a choice of engines from a (starter) S6 to V12.

If I had the money I would be placing a deposit right now.

Good luck TVR. smile

5k is not a lot to many people and well worth a punt for something different from mainstream blandness+turbo charger.
isn't that the price of new Maser discs? or a handlful of exotic coil packs?
the deposits should be held in escrow, and then you're just losing bank interest. oh wait...

TVR, possibly the only car I see as a genuine upgrade to my Honda S2000. I'd only consider a T350C and I know it'd need to have a ground up nut & bolt rebuild, but it'd just tickle all the right boxes.

This news however - could be the most exciting car since the R35 GT-R for me.

It would have been simple to guarantee the deposits through escrow account. For an astute group of business people not to do so does raise the question.

My deposit is waiting, but I won't be handing monies over until there is more than a website and a nice story.

Good luck TVR.

Ok I know that this is PH and TVR's are sacrosanct on here but surely I can't be alone in thinking that looks a complete mess?

What does the deposit get you over and above someone who doesn't put one down but waits until an actual car is on sale?

Bullst rights down the pub? hehe

Presumably it gets you a place in the queue, somewhere near the front, so you can be the first on your street to get one and then when your neighbour's arrives he has to hydro dip the whole thing in a carbon fibre finish because otherwise it's simply too embarrassing to own.

Surely anyone with enough money to blindly "Invest" £5000 in a car that doesn't actually exist, doesn't care how much it'll cost when finished... If you have to ask how much it costs and all that.

I'm sure there'll be a lot more information soon and all the deposits will be secured and refundable at any point. smile

If that'd been the case, I'd hope that the story wouldn't even have made it onto PH!

I would prefer to wait for a proper pre production model at a motor show. Like TVR used to do.

Build it, show it, take deposits, if enough interest: Build it !
Well, they've got just under 12 months to get it ready for the next FoS! driving

Didn't they say the Jensen SV8 deposits would be refundable?

I wouldn't part with any of my money until I was 100 per cent assured the product was staring me in the eyes and I had sat in it.

That nicely matches the Greeks spending plans. In fact, they've even thought up an anagram,

STAVROS?

A TVR SOS!

I wish it were otherwise, but the probability of one proud punter being handed the keys to his new TVR in 2017 is zero.
