Have you ever just thought 'sod it' and bought a car?
Discussion
Has a point or event happened in your life, where you just thought, "fk it" and went and bought a car? I'm thinking along the lines of buying expensive ones, crazy ones, or just something a bit different.
I'm not talking about buying a £300 banger off ebay, more like expensive stuff, blowing all your savings which are doing nothing, taking out a big finance agreement or whatever.
What caused you to do this, and did you regret it?

Current LS460, yes, it was £15k I wasn't planning on buying it, but got there and I was like 'wow this is nice' and the salesman was saying 'come on make me an offer', and so I did, at £13k and that was that.
Regrets? No not really. Sometimes thought 'this thing is bloody humongous, what a pain to park', but then other times it's 'fk this is comfortable'. And did get two speeding fines (first ever!) in the space of a month that I wouldn't have got if the car had been a bit slower (I was accelerating from zero).

April 2007, and after a pub lunch at a castle in Durham with my wife and parents;
Me; "On the way back, do you mind pulling into a dealership, they've got a Monaro in, I've never seen one in the flesh"
Mam; "Sure son, no problem"
Later, at home;
Wife; " Do you think we could afford that car, I liked it?"
Well, over eight years later, I've still got the beasty, but I haven't got my mam anymore

Always have at least 2 cars when arguably I don't even need one. If I don't own a Convertible as soon as we get a nice sunny day I'm out panic buying another! Have ended up with 3 Boxsters in a row in this fashion..usually treat myself to another car around my birthday time too. Have bought a LandRover a Discovery V8, Range Rover, Subaru Forester, Porsche 968, BMW M3, 3 x Corrado VR6s all in September various years as 2nd/3rd cars. This year it is likely to be some sort of TVR..buying car days are the best days ever...from researching the car sites, to booking a train ticket, 1st class journey to wherever and then the drive back getting to know the vehicle...one of the best days was a BMW 328 Convertible I picked up from Cornwall several years ago on a sunny winters day after a lovely train ride down, last few miles along the coast...the drive back along the A30 was superb
My name is..and I'm addicted to buying cars

Yes, twice. It seems to be the way I do most things TBH.
The first was my Allegro, I was a student at the time and I needed a push bike for Le Mans, came back with this...
£500 well sent, I loved this car. I had to sell it because students don't have much .
The second was my TVR. Always wanted one, I had the money so I bought it. WOW. It cost me some money but it was good. I had to sell to start my business. I will have one again soon.
