Also spotted this on Autotrader today... "RS6 WON" apparently.

Obviously the plate on display is perfectly fine, it's just not as advertised.
Still, nice to know that it's one of those "unique" plates, unlike so many of the others.

With all these idiots willing to pay money for meaningless numbers the DVLA is laughing all the way to the bank.
I've just looked at the list of numbers at the DVLA auction on Monday.

Just a sample from the "A" numbers :
AAD53H, AB66BAS, AC02KER, AKL45S, AND744G, ASW22A and there are many more. Most are a starting bid of £200, so with £80 fee plus vat these will be a minimum of £300.

I just wish i had a st product I could sell to idiots for high prices!!
It goes in the countries finances, and really this thread is about poorly spaced/butchered private plates, not really the whole concept, whilst they arent really somethign I aspire to, I can see why some do and if it makes them happy then I dont have an issue with it.

Its just when people take liberties to make it look like something it isnt it looks a bit desperate and tragic and I like to feel there is someone more desperate and tragic than I out there biggrin
I never "aspired" to have a number plate, and mines pretty st to the casual observer, but for me it was £300 and means I never have to remember another plate in my life, its close enough to my surname that people who know me know what it means, and those who don't know me probably point and laugh as they don't understand it.

I don't however butcher it.

Am I an idiot for spending £300 on it, probably, but its money I had spare and don't miss.

Proper list there hehe

Re the 911 one above, i reckon it's an NI / NI style plate where the 5 has been shaped into a makeshift S.

Edit - appears to be the case - https://cazana.com/uk/car/KIG9115

I got mine when I got divorced back in 2004. It was a cheap £250 plate - and is mine and my sons initials - so even those that know me don't quite know what it means without asking!! But like you - it was spare cash at the time.

Is she an alcoholic or is it pointing out she has a large posterior, which I believe is known as a "Booty", and why would you want your registration to pertain to either your alcohol problem or arse ? and how do fkwitts like that manage to get their hands on nice cars ?

I wonder if chav plates and massive, catastrophic debt have a correlation ? I find myself thinking that the owners are probably call centre supervisors or work in a mobile phone shop. Not saying private plates in general as decent ones are a pretty good investment cost a lot of money, so if you had the money, you would buy a good one and not try to butcher one into something else ?

I suspect most people aspiring to impress others with a display of wealth or prestige or status actually do so on an endless round of maxed-out credit cards, crippling PCP payments, bank loans, enormous mortgages and substantial interest charges on seriously overdrawn accounts.

Two prestige cars on the drive but absolutely fk all in the fridge...

I reckon his name might be SALMON.

Maybe that's why the Orks do it - find a plate that's close to your name, bastardise it a bit more and get a thumbs up and a grunt from the knuckle-draggers for being clever enough to find a plate that's 'almost' your name.

The only personal plate I would ever have on my car would have the letters GUF on it.

My friends and family understand why.

Cheers! Annoyingly it was only over a couple of days. They are getting progressively worse. The general rule now seems to be, get any old rubbish made up & shove it on the vehicle.

Thanks for working it out, it had me stumped! They hadn't even bothered to butcher the 5, it was an actual S! rolleyes
