Aspiring to pretend you have something Real Good when it's very obvious you haven't. That's not just about a number plate or any other fake status symbols - if any of that stuff interests you - it's about a whole pretentious and fake lifestyle and attitude that makes you pretend you've got it which stems from nothing more than a unconstrained desire to impress others in order to make you feel better about yourself.
Risible.

Yep, nail on head. It's faking it.

I dont know if its about feeling better about oneself. It is certainly attention seeking at some level.Aspiring to pretend you have something Real Good when it's very obvious you haven't. The bit that really puzzles me is the £100k+ cars wearing crappy plates. If you have the money to buy the car (or even just lease it) you must have a couple of £ to rub together. I really am stumped why someone would drive around in a wrath with a crappy plate. You can always find something reasonable for a few £ to put on a car. Even the original would be way better.

A pro po to nothing, whilst in Egypt over Christmas the evenings were somewhat cooler than expected so I went to one of the markets to buy a hoody or a jumper. All branded stuff everywhere (the Russians LOVE their brands....) One I piked out seemed ok, worked out at around £7.50, ok, quality wasn't great but wasn't really bothered. As soon as I took it off the rack the shopkeeper came over and was saying how good it was. Trying to convince me it's genuine. FFS, just admit it's a knock off and I'll buy it. No. Wouldn't admit it. So went elsewhere. Yeah, I know. Cool story bro huh?Aspiring to pretend you have something Real Good when it's very obvious you haven't. Just seen this in a Tesco car park. This could be a candidate for so many threads....
Matt finish wrap - check
Ridiculous wheels - check
Parked across two bays - check
Crappy number plate - check
That’s a full house in knob jockey bingo!!
Parking across two bays is OK by me if the car park has plenty of spaces closer to the store. All the others Matt finish wrap - check
