Ye, the "Audi blah blah blah" is getting a little old, and the influence of the Audi advertising money obvious. I mean, why the fk mention the S6 is a fast car, when it is £10k more and petrol rather than mentioning the very similar 3.0 TDI?
The XF that was compared to the Audi S6 is also petrol.bencollins said:
"In any case, after two days' driving the new XF over some extremely challenging roads, it's clear Jaguar has proven it remembers how to make a big car endlessly entertaining and engaging. But can the XF V6 S be recommended over Audi's mighty 450hp 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 Audi S6? Impossible. The German would walk it in performance terms - it's almost a whole second quicker to 62mph."
Almost a whole second on a completely different car. OOOOOO, relevant.

4WD vs RWD principally. PH stop comparing Apples with Cape Gooseberries. Almost a whole second on a completely different car. OOOOOO, relevant.

Did PH review the same car as everyone else?!

That was my conclusion too. PH has provided a sub-standard review - hardly worth the cost of sending someone to Spain before writing it.http://www.topgear.com/car-reviews/jaguar/xf/30-v6...

It sounds as though Jaguar has got the handling well sorted in its latest generation of cars, enough to give the competition a run for its money. I`ve had the chance only to sit in an XF, at one of Jaguar`s events, and found it roomy enough; my main criticism, from this very limited perspective, was the relatively small size of the centre console. I also discovered that the quick way to tell the difference between the XF and the XE is by the shapes of the lights.
I am not in the market for a saloon (we have a Sportbrake) so am looking forward to trying out the F-Pace when it appears. No doubt it will share the same useful technology that has appeared on the XE and XF, such the HUD and the improved touch screen features.

EVO were fairly derisory about the XF too. It is possible that beyond national pride, it just isn't a brilliant car?http://www.topgear.com/car-reviews/jaguar/xf/30-v6...

Verdict:
Not a truly complete £50K sports saloon, but a fine car and new chassis seriously impresses

Oddly, they do mention a more expensive Audi...
Personally I have always felt whatcar are the most unpatriotic. Here are their thoughts:

I just don't get the whole perceived 'audi quality' thing. My wife had an A4 as a company car up until last year. The interior looked dated, the radio/heating system was a faff to use, the seat when positioned would wait until you had driven around a corner about 17 miles away and suddenly (and dangerously) 'click' into position and the car wouldn't even let you move it off or around the driveway without putting your belt on.
The ONLY part if the interior I felt was quality was the material spec of the steering wheel and the small dial to the right of the wheel used to switch the lights on.
Glad I'm not the only one that doesn't 'get' this Audi interior 'superiority' bks.The ONLY part if the interior I felt was quality was the material spec of the steering wheel and the small dial to the right of the wheel used to switch the lights on.
Certainly the smaller A3/A4/TT types I tired before I bought the 135i had poor ergonomics IMHO, and didn't appear to be that much better in terms of 'quality' of material than any of the competitors. And they driving experience isn't better either.
Maybe the bigger A6/A8/Q5/Q7 class is different, but not really tried them.
