What do we think? The pictures are of a 1:43 scale model but 'according to sources' are the real deal.

I rather like it.

They appear to have put Volvo styling cues onto an A5 Sportback coffee

As conservative as every other recent launch, but if the interior is similar to an XC90 and the pricing is in the same ballpark as an A6 or 5 series I can certainly see the appeal.

Looks great...just hope they dont saddle it with a limp multi turbo 4 cylinder 2.0 like they have the xc90

Which they will do, given its Volvo's only engine configuration. Doesn't seem to be hindering XC90 sales!

The T8 hybrid could be interesting.

That looks very smart. Amidst those dire SUV's, Volvo might still have what it takes to style a decent looking car.

Four cylinder? What a load of cack, I'd have T least liked five cylinders and a big turbo.

I question this reaching the European market. More than likely it will stay in China.

X 9 I drove a few weeks back was a step up from predecessor, liking the growth prospect of the brand but has a waft of the last Saab 9-5 about it to.

Some pictures of it on Swedespeed http://www.swedespeed.com/news/Volvo_News/volvo-ca...

"Three engine choices will be available: the award-winning four-cylinder, 2.0 liter turbocharged and supercharged T6 engine, the turbocharged T5 variant and the clean and powerful T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid"

Like the look of it, just a shame it will only have 4 cylinder engines. I don't care how much power they will have, this car would suit a 5, a 6, and a v8 for good measure!

I'm not too sure about those rear lights but the general design seems nice and the interior being similar to the current XC90s is a bonus - what a lovely place to sit, one of the nicest interiors on the market imo.

Looks like a rip off of a 5 series. Made for a Chinese market.

The XC90 and this are really great looking cars, I'm just not overly enamoured by the engine choices.

I agree with the sentiment but don't think Mr. Wu from the politburo in the back cares... 'tis strange with the situation with selling to America though since they're not big on fours at all. I wish they still had fives and sixes too, but high-pressure turbo charging is the order of the day. Wondering when that worm will turn, much like when turbo went out of vogue before in the '80s.

Probably when all these highly strung high output small capacity engines start blowing up!
