Swiss T's evocative response - witty as ever- leads on to my support for the full fat Rangie in a dark hue. Did the poshest couple in the UK just meet the most powerful couple in the Western world in a "Bent Ego" no ! Range Rover all the way and as a "16" it was probably reliable.DonkeyApple said:
I saw a few in Town today. In actual fact they look quite nice. Well proportioned and reasonably elegant. Not the carbuncled behemoth of the press release images.
Yes, it's been somewhat slated but would affluent city types as opposed to the celebrity world buy it in preference to a lovely The Brick on the Park Range Rover?Lester H said:

Yes, it's been somewhat slated but would affluent city types as opposed to the celebrity world buy it in preference to a lovely The Brick on the Park Range Rover? And then there are the expats in the City. Those unencumbered by our schooling and class system who will be free to buy it because it is more expensive than a Rangie and so must be superior. International City types who reside in Chelsea, Knightsbridge, Kensington, Hampstead or Mayfair would buy them.
I think we will see rather a lot of them in Town and I think they will replace a lot of Rangies. Especially the black ones with the 'ugly family' glass.
Saw one today, had plenty of time to look whilst queueing as was in a carpark that wasn't letting anyone out...
Anyway, there was a Blue Bentayga with a chavtastic 007 number plate. Saw the driver (50 ish female) get in, and the door seemed unusually tall in that it was like opening your home door to get in, ground clearance seemed minimal.. Also it has a row of led's low down on the rear bumper for a reverse light, very narrow in height and not very bright neither.
Appears it does not fit in parking space either, as was parked in a spot with a hatched area around it to be kept free, however said owner was using this no parking area too (due to length?).
Very ugly though.

Funnily enough, I saw my first one today too on the road in Rutland.Anyway, there was a Blue Bentayga with a chavtastic 007 number plate. Massive and ugly were my thoughts also.

To me it genuinely has no greater purpose than a leather-clad SUV to 'wave' status.
I'm a Range Rover fan (most of the time) and bar it's move slightly towards bling-dom, I can't see a single selling point of the Bentley over a RR.
And yet that purpose is a great one in terms of sales for Bentley.I'm a Range Rover fan (most of the time) and bar it's move slightly towards bling-dom, I can't see a single selling point of the Bentley over a RR.
Quite clearly you'll never be in a position to buy one and I suspect if you were you wouldn't be buying a Kia Sportage so your post was patently bks.
