i used to own a lovely Imola red one a few years back. This is my Fave pic one frosty october morning. I found the Bread van far more of an event to drive that anything else. Its such a weird thing and oh so pleasing to drive

The engineers were bored with modifying and trying to make their boring family car exciting and wanted to build an interesting car with character and try something different...thank god! smile

Would love one but the pricing for that is bonkers - much like a lot of things people are 'speculating' on. It's put me off a few cars actually as I wouldn't want to drive them (what's a car for again?) and end up spunking it all by sticking 60k on it (would be a fun but very expensive 60k mind you)

The thing is with the Z3MC and Roadster (imho) is that the driving experience is fantastic.

Dynamic? No. Agile? No. The attraction is that there is nothing anywhere on the road that looks like it. It has a relaxed, powerful GT like ride, subtle and powerful. For todays modern roads it does everything - looks great, turns heads, immensively powerful and a lingering warning that it can step out if you are naughty.

If you want to drive like a boss on the roads any race all comers then avoid - if you want to kick back and feel comfrtable and enjoy the power when times allow then there is nothing better.

Another bonus is that they are strong on the residuals so when you get bored so won't take a bath when you sell it. They are very reliable, share a lot of cheaper parts and easy to work on. God I want another.... this one looks like fantastic value

Looks like the others they had sold too

They're brilliant, because they hail from the era of BMW designers not subscribing to the VAG principle of designing a car to be merely inoffensive, rather than take a risk and make it interesting.

Always liked these. I was lucky enough to borrow one for a few days in Australia. Perfect for touring on nice rural roads with a passenger and some luggage. It was black which is good. Still kind of ugly in a good way but not as ostentatious as one of the funny colours. "Look at Me!"

A late model Z3 was on the cards for us, but they all looked seriously "used", interior aged very badly as well. £40k for one, whatever pedigree or engine eek

I spun one of these pulling out of a BP garage on the A40 (just past the North Circular), was a bit embarrassing as all three lanes had to emergency stop to avoid me. I told my girlfriend it must have been an oil spill on the garage exit.

With prices as strong as they are I'm glad you're happy with the generic m3 and an airbox

This is just one car that should have been never made as a coupe - its hideous. Looks like a blasted bell end. They should have just left it as convertible.

Which do you think the engineers who designed it made? Which do you think the accountants made?

Prices don't necessarily have much to do with ability. I don't think much of the E46 M3 to be honest but the Z3M is not really a particularly good steer.
