What would be your "one car for life"?
Discussion
So inspired by a recent Evo magazine article, you can own other cars to suit your changing desires/needs but this is the one car that you will keep forever, the one that reminds you what you love about driving perhaps?
Personally, I would love something like a McLaren F1 or Porsche Carrera GT and don't think I would ever get bored of them but too impractical and valuable to use regularly, so I was thinking more along the lines of these:
Peugeot 205 GTi 1.9 - a humble choice but my favourite hot hatch ever, so by default one of my favourite cars ever! So much feedback, response and adjustability.
Lancia Delta Integrale Evo - not yet had the chance to drive one but I imagine a bit like a faster, more grown-up 205 GTi. Somehow, it manages to pull off being practical, functional and exotic.
Both of these cars would be very difficult to part with if I ever had the opportunity to own them but I think my choice would probably be an air-cooled Porsche 911.
Would that be a pre-impact bumper 911 S or a 993 Carrera, I'm not really sure. Even an early GT3 may be in with a shout. I dislike modern 911s but these all seem closer to the compact, lightweight sportscar than the luxury GT that the 911 has become with a more exotic engine than other lightweight sportscars.

One car for life? That'd probably be a toss up between what I have now (E92 M3) or a 997.2 Turbo if I'm feeling greedy.
That said, you've got to think of the kids, so the five seats of an F10 M5 might be the better way to go.
You can have other cars for practicality etc, but what car would you commit to keeping until the petrol runs out? That said, you've got to think of the kids, so the five seats of an F10 M5 might be the better way to go.
Some great cars mentioned but I think some people may have not read the OP (and just the title)? V60 Polestar and Tahoe/Suburban good cars but really? i.e. I didn't say you could ONLY own one car for the rest of your life, you just had to choose one to keep for the rest of your life and can chop and change other vehicles on your fleet as you see fit!

Yeah, guilty as charged. Should have read the op properly. That actually makes it harder, probably my step mums frogeye sprite. She's owned it for 43 years, I'd like to keep it forever Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
