I wish i had been able to keep my 1992 Saab 900 T16. Such a different driving experience compared to most cars of it's day, let alone now.

My dads Renault 21 Turbo. He loved that car and I always thought it was the fastest thing ever as a kid!

2x Mk2 RS2000 (one was a 1-of-7-RHD Calypso Green)
1x S1 RS Turbo (on a "D" - 1 of 52)

None of those sold for more than 2.5K...

My 1989 Phase 1 Renault 21 Turbo, BBR tuned with full Scorpion exhaust.
Probably not worth much, but you just can't find a good one any more frown

Sure. But a Mk2 Scrote was just a fairly outdated boggo family car. It just happened to have a lot of money thrown at it in rallying and did quite well.

Take that base-spec school-run special, and it's worth more than any merits justify.
If the factory gave it a slightly warmer lump and a 1600 Sport badge, and it's FAR pricier than much better contemporaries.
If the factory ran a few catalogue accessories and some stripes over it, it's just plain stupid money.

This hurts...

95 Impreza, Black EVO 6 GSR, E46 CSL and polar silver 996 Turbo.

Makes me feel old and all are worth more than when I sold them.

On a similar vein to the R21 turbos above, I would love to have kept and properly restored my old Rover 420 GSi Turbo. Sold to help fund my move away, subsequently changed hands a few times and ended up as scrap and parts because of a very cracked shell. A whole 7 years later, I still miss it.

Just like the old Porkas and Ferraris though, you're buying rarity and a different driving experience ...not ability.

As a few people on here constantly point out, they'd all be left choking in a cloud of business dust by a new 335d X-drive

My Seat LCR. It was getting too long in the tooth to maintain daily duties, and wasn't particularly special to the masses, but goodness knows I loved that car. Sure I could buy another one now as they are little more than worthless, but it wouldn't be the same.

Not a car, but 15 years ago I should have bought every Honda C90 I could have got my hands on and put them in dry storage.

All those 60s and 70s VW Bullies we gave away for free in the late 80s in not that bad condition either.
They were really awfull to drive and horrible on fuel.
As much as they are loved today, I still would not want one for myself today.

My old Glanza V I had when I was 18/19. Sold it on and it subsequently got stolen and torched. I think I sold it for £3k in 2010, you try and find a mint one for that now!

I had a mint, low miles Miami Blue 1.9 205 gti, which I sold at a ridiculously low price about 10 years ago when moving to London for a 9 month work contract,

Loved that car dearly but didn't get a parking space and didn't *really* need a car.
