My Daytona yellow MK1 RS2000, one of the last built, started to get some moth, couldn't afford to keep it to repair and buy another car (also no garage in those days) I wish I could have put it in storage somewhere, and come back when I was more flush. Still, great memories, best all round car I've ever had.

For me, it would have to be the 1968 Camaro SS 396 L78 thaat I had as a teenager. It was a complete rot-box that got eventually got scrapped, three owners down the road.

At one stage I had two BMW E30's both 3 door models both cost less than £300. One rusted to death and was scrapped the other sold to an Irish chap for banger racing I should have kept it.

RMorris Marina GT Coupe - Loved that car and learnt how to drive sideways round the lanes of Gloucestershire in Winter smile

Renault 5 Turbo - 1st proper fast car for me, hated the thing at the time as it kept blowing head gaskets.

First ever car, for about a week, was a 2.0 Turbo Prelude with 4WS like this:

Gift from my Dad (his hand me down). The insurance was going to be over £2K, so I used it as the deposit for a boggo Punto. Probably a good thing in hindsight as I got myself into enough trouble with 50HP. Having said that, I'm sure it's possible to get another, it'll never be an S2000.

My old 3.2 Carrera 911. Sold about 7-8 years ago with 60k on the clock for 13k It was in great nick. I'd actually like a ropey one now, so I wouldn't be scared of dinging it.

My 550 Maranello.

(it was consigned to the 2nd hand market after a small prang, no more than 10mph, caused £22k of repairs. From memory the bonnet was £12k ish + prep, paint and fitting labour. The cherry on the cake was Independent Insurance went out of business that week so only 90% of the claim was paid).

I still look at them and think wow...

Clearly learning from my (then) supercar & depreciation nightmare, I bought a new CL55 AMG...!!!!
