Shmee had a video up which he removed after re-thinking it. What point/value does that serve?
This is from 4 years ago, and yes it was not appropriate, I'm not proud of it but equally back then I was in full-time employment, this was not a job, and the global attitude towards YouTube/Social Media/the Internet was very different to what it is now.Shmee said:
In recent years I have done my very best to minimise any videos driving over limit and for example the 720S video, other than trickling a couple of km/h over basically that entire video is at the limits of the roads I'm on. It has the frustrating consequence that the audience think I drive 'like a granny', and there's less noise and drama from the car for the video. Let's face it, road speed limits do not faze cars of this capability in the slightest. I have to put up with an awful lot of abuse because I don't chuck a car around on roads like certain others have shown that they are willing to but the law is the law, and I'm not keen to place incriminating evidence there for all to see.
I thought Top Gear's one from a few years ago was great, where they overlaid the speedo image in shot so it looked like it was stopped at the limit of about 50, when the car was blatantly being ragged up the gears. Also MCM's "Why does our friend's really long, straight driveway on private land have tarmac and white lines painted on it?"
As to the top gear 720 not being shown like another poster I was there for the filming and had a feeling it wasn't going to be in the final show. During filming the video segments in the show are shown on big screens.
So you have studio filming and then they stop filming and show the pre driven Porsche lap for example and then carry on the segment in studio.
With the 720 there was no video footage that I remember and they also re shot the piece with JK and Harris looking the car over and getting excited about the flip down dash a number of times certainly more than any other aspect of the show and I just got the feeling they were unhappy with the 720 segment as we then swiftly moved onto filming the next bit.

I've been saddened to see some of the content that has surfaced though, and generally the 'low' standards even compared to my content, for example seeing speeds in excess of 170km/h in a 50 zone on another video with comments praising that kind of driving.
Admit it, you're just jelly that Nicky didn't choose you that's why you're criticising her vid with baron (where they were doing silly speeds in 50 zone).Purso said:
Anyone watch hoovies garage he buys some cool cars (what I think is cool) and is very open about the costs which is refreshing.
I have just found this channel, keen to check out the vids.Edited by Purso on Monday 8th May 20:48
I am now subscribed to so many channels I am always about one and a half weeks behind the current vids!
This is still the case even though I spend more time watching you tube than I spend working lol.

Edit, it's the RS video - https://youtu.be/ZI-_ptRBMUg?t=5m8s such a sick car, I'm just worried about someone high profile being made an example of soon.

Yeah, it certainly looks like he passes 150km/h in what the GPS seems to show as a 50 zone, which may be pushing it a bit.
Edit: Yeah, he passes a 50 sign and shortly after I'm pretty sure that's a number in the 170s I see on the dash. This is from 13:30 to 13:40ish in his video.

Shmee does have a point. It is stupid but no one likes a grass.
Hah, it's not like I'm going to dob him in to the police in whatever locality it was, I just though it was easier to show screenshots of it for people not wanting to go through a 15m video to see if what people are saying is correct. No digging up dirt or childish doxxing nonsense here, just stuff that's right there in his video.

Cars get binned more often than you think on press events. There's a sort of unwritten code that you don't publish anything about it, but people tell the stories. I'm sure the guys at PH have some good ones... Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
