Glad I wasn't included. Terribly written article, with some questionable stats and logic.
Badly written, yes.

Also seems to only look at YT monies. There are other sources of income and there is a decent variation in what someone gets per view. Just seems a bit sour really. If some one's made a go of it and YT is giving them ad money for fluffy videos, good for them, they should be enjoying it while the getting is good. Things will change, some will fall by the way side, others will adapt and carry on.... usual stuff.... just good to see people making the most of the game.

I have to admit, few will give you a review like Clarkson or Catchpole, but then people are not watching for that. They want the cars, the noises, the glimpse of the life style and that is what they're being served. Can't argue with that.

Of that website, I am struggling to tolerate anyone of them for more than a minute other than JWW. He is quite natural on camera but still would rather listen to harry drone on to put me to sleep or James martin as he is far more relate-able to me personally.
I can't watch James Martin. He's got less personality than a pot of beige gloss paint.

That's perhaps why I put him alongside someone else who sends me to sleep.

No formal ties per se, but I do work with them closely for preferential deals and they do what they can for me to make transition between cars as pallatable as possible. I wish I had a shareholding tbh, as they are absolutely flying. Great bunch there, very down to earth and trustworthy. Some other dealers I think are making their life easier to be honest. Have dealt with a few and nobody has come close to being that pleasant to deal with. Dean is mine, and my brother's contact there.

The trying not to lose money thing is luck and a bit of judgement, the right car at the right price is what you need and I've so far been lucky as working out what they'll do value wise is guesswork at best. Touch wood. Would say though if you can't afford for the worst case depreciation scenario to happen, don't do it! Or risk losing sleep every time you drive the thing.
Thanks for the honest and quick response TGE.

first time i fully watched a TGE's video was the one about JE's collection. Poor JE looked scared & half asleep at the start bless him.

my ONLY criticism is why wasn't there any footage of him driving it back (i'm assuming another video to come on that) as would of been nice to hear the noise of that beast!

Love your style of vids TGE, very refreshing to watch.

Can I put in a request that you make some proper balls to the wall driving vids with your cars before you sell them?! Decent empty twisty roads.. not just London!

As it was, I think some youtube people would have split that video into 2 or 3 separate ones, but I'm not really arsed about milking it that much. Want to do some proper videos with JE and his car in due course, getting in some proper action with his car in the collection video would preclude further video/s with it so best to hit it properly in another one. Also we were in a rush to get back! Ha

I have meant to, but last time i went for a proper hoon I forgot my equipment.
I love the POV stuff and giving the cars a good run out, but very fine line between creating those sorts of driving videos and effectively just putting up evidence of myself dangerous driving on the internet. a) illegal & asking for trouble b) not a great example.
Fairly thin ice and it's been touched on here before. Abroad however I may care slightly less, rightly or wrongly. Lols.

I didn't realise living with your mum and dad in Watford was living the dream.

I think the "dream" being going from zero to super car off youtube money only. I think the author is trying to say 90% of the youtubers can go and buy a Ferrari or McLaren etc regardless of their youtube income. SOL could not have done it without YT and still has to live at home to ensure he can complete the dream. IYSWIM.

Got an enormous amount of respect for Paul and what he's achieved, and how hard he works/has worked.
He was an early adopter, paving the way for others tbh in this field and is still nailing it 9 odd years later. Good on him.

Ah, that's not really living that dream either if you need someone else to support you but I understand what it means.

Invited to fly round the world to drive amazing cars, getting all access to pretty much every automotive related event in the world all expenses paid, buying a Lamborghini and an M3 in your twenties, without a boss or having to commute isn't bad. I applaud him, it's brilliant.
Arguably he's never home enough to even need his own gaff!

Not bad at all. He should enjoy it while it lasts, it won't be forever.

Oh, didn't know about that. Thought it was him basically owning a nice car but having to live at home with his parents.

That's fair enough completely get you don't want to have anything too incriminating on the channel. But... would be nice to see some proper drive by shots letting the exhaust sing in open countryside!

Question for Shmee if he is reading this thread.

What has happened to any more Pendle lease videos? Quite enjoyed the MINI and Golf videos last year, but no more have appeared. No longer connected with Pendle?

Yep, still here!

Next one coming up soon, they wanted me to drive the 991.2 GTS so not exactly in the same category. I'd like to get back behind the wheel of more hot hatches so watch this space.
