Are these Vloggers just a scam? SOL or Shmee etc???????
Discussion
Let's do the math
Accepted payment per 1000 views is around $2
Schmee has 223,000,000 lifetime views in 9 years.
So about $50,000 per year = £33k/yr
Obviously no where near enough for the cars/lifestyle without supplemental income. But many many people are fortunate enough to have income streams from jobs that can be done on the move leaving plently of time for making videos. I think Schmee probably does it as a hobby more than anything, who wouldn't give their left testicle to be constantly invited onto press launches without having to work as a magazine journo?
Personally I think 2 types of person watch the videos, the majority are youngsters who get to live vicariously through them, the other smaller set are those who are interested in purchasing one of the cars featured. These vidoes give a good overview of the ownership experience and sit side by side with Harris type videos which give a view of the driving experience.

Whilst it is not bad for essentially making a video almost everyday. It is a lot of time making it/editing it etc and once you take tax and other bits off, it's definitely not a great income and as you say they must have another income.Accepted payment per 1000 views is around $2

I'd happily do it as a side line if it meant I could own the cars he has and 'review' some of the latest cars to come out.

Oh right, I must be mistaken then, I'll stop bothering from now on.
30 mph speed limits ruthlessly enforced with speed cameras. Risk of pedestrians at any time of day or night. Not much fun for driving.
Where else is there that's worth driving through in London ?

If you know when and where to go and you are in something that can get up there very quickly then there's an awful lot of joy to be had.
But it won't last forever so I'll say no more.

A vlogger who has a more genuine answer to the inevitable question?
As for his insight into trading cars he really does hit the nail on the head. Any bugger can sell a car but it is the buying them where the profit is made. I have made money out of buying and selling cars but I only do it rarely as it is very hard to source them.

Fair play to them, however they get the money to fund these purchases, they're able to do it and yes, happy to admit a fair degree of envy in being able to do it.
As for the content, find it annoying but sometimes find myself watching for longer than I'd like. Bar that Aleem guy. I saw one video of him outside some ropey looking car meet and you'd think someone famous had turned up. Crowds of people literally flocking around him shouting 'I love you' and posing for pictures.
I'd say the following some of these people have is worse than some of the drivel they put out, which is somewhat worrying in itself.

All terribly vague and unclear re sources of income. Not really anyone's business (which is what he should have said), but it all sounds like BS to me. I think he's from money.
Look at his surname.
Then look at the back of a packet of these
Given the amount of these I've consumed in my lifetime. I'll be expecting lispy to be giving me his FF when he's moved onto the next shiny thing.

His videos arent to my taste but having a kink for the FF (which will never happen BTW) I did watch one in its entirety
Not only does he have the cars but obviously property and storage in several other European countries as well as the assumed ££££ pad in London
Having initially tuned into this thread full of ideas on how to fund a fleet of tasty motors on the clickbait generated from posting videos of my pets I have no abandoned all dreams of this and will carry on with the day job
He's not funding it from Youtube at all is he?

I don't understand how Shmee is so popular, the videos are boring, he is so wooden with his style. How has he got so popular with no personality?
I'm not an avid viewer of this supercar stuff anyway, I find it largely boring. I did stumble upon this guy called Salomondrin, he is loaded, flaunts his wealth, etc. Not the sort of thing I typically want to watch but the guy seems to ooze charisma and personality. I end up watching videos about stuff i'm completely uninterested about just because I find him so engaging. There is a video where Shmee is out in one of his cars, Shmee managed to suck all the life out of it.
