No idea, how about you try it and see, Shiv? Let us all know how you get on please.I'll be emailing you also to let you know what to have for lunch tomorrow. Will kick off online if you don't have exactly what my preference would be.

Allowed, yes.But why do people buy supercars? Not for transport - noisy, awkward to get in and out, not much carrying capacity, a liability to park in some places, probably less reliable than ordinary cars, and if you have semi slick tyres almost unusable in heavy rain according to the latest Shmee video.
So if not for transport, then for what? Some keep them long term as either collectibles or investments. Some get a thrill out of short term ownership, and the incredibly buoyant market has made that attainable for many more than if supercars depreciated like normal cars. If the market collapses as it did in the nineties many owners will catch cold.
Well back on topic....
My thoughts - which count for nothing...
Shmee - I've been following him for a few years (I first became aware of him when he was donutting his R8 not far from my house making a huge noise! good informative videos with plenty of detail..
TGE - only followed him from a post on this thread some months ago - love the videos, straight up opinion and good cars (even if i do now say blah blah blah now..)
Archie Hamilton - false titles on most of the videos and content not that great... And not torquing up wheel bolts on his A45 - poor show particularly from someone who as a racer should even more understand the importance...
Joe Achilles - great reviews, factual, BMW based (I blame him for a car purchase!) but no nonsense likeable character
JWW - good narrative and great cars...
Sol and co.. again okay.
Either way - the effort I imagine that goes in to these videos/vlogs must be great, and no doubt people will start tailing off having used the videos as a stepping stone into more car related work and following their passion... Anyway, keep it up.

I would imagine if TGE worked out how much money he made from the ownership videos of his car, he would not have lost any or much money and in actual fact got free (ish...) motoring out of it.
Same for any vlogger that owns a nice car- they are in effect owning their worksource- ownership vids will be much different to a normal test drive and the cars they are paying for are making them money

Can't somebody buy one purely because they want one ?
Yes and clearly lots of people do - check the classifieds for Aston Martin, Lamborghini etc and you'll find plenty of cars in the same ownership for years rather than monthsBut equally some people want to try as many as possible, variety is the spice of life and all that. In the last few years it's been possible to do that without taking a hit such is the state of the market
Of course the ideal is probably a mix of both (the Shmee model) where you have a couple of long term keepers and a couple that of slots that you chop in and out
But everyone is different, likes different things etc. Only on the Internet forums is there a strident "you don't want to do it like that" culture

Im sure these “losses” are paid for from a reduced tax bill on income.
At the end of the day you only live once.
I personally could never own or buy a fleet like these guys (as I hate losing money) and I probably have more money than them.
However good luck to them.
So are you saying that unless you see a profit in a car or anything then you are unlikely to buy it??? Thats a very sad way of looking at things. Whats wrong with buying something just for the sake of owning it and enjoying it for what it is?At the end of the day you only live once.

The massive balloon payment at the end puts people off. New Ferrari 488 GTB £240K (To a decent spec), £20K down, finance 30/40K with a balloon payment of £180/190K. Sell the car a few months after it arrives and you should, going by current stock at my local Ferrari dealer sell it for £235K. Loss of £5K (maybe) plus whatever monthly payments you made, roughly £800 - £900 per month.

Where are you going to sell it for £235k though? Not to a dealer, that's for sure. And, as your own post points out, most people buying these cars want finance on them which makes a private sale tricky.New Ferrari 488 GTB £240K (To a decent spec), £20K down, finance 30/40K with a balloon payment of £180/190K. £15K to do a couple of thousand miles pootling around London and parking up at car shows?
Each to their own.
Embittered. If only you actually understood, my shrub. Each to their own.
As long as you enjoyed your brief ownership experience that's what matters.
This thread is bizarre. The general impression is that Youtubers and vloggers are the only people buying these cars and their opinions on them are fantastically important. The vast majority of Supercar owners are just people who've worked hard and would like to own and drive something they always dreamed of, "likes" and "hits" and all this other stuff is a complete irrelevance to them.
I really think social media is distorting peoples perspectives here as it seems to do in so many areas now.
