It took a lot of preparation; location scouting, prepared the car with dealer, new tyres over inflated, all the camera side, and then up at 6am on a Sunday to do it!
Good fun though!
I'm impressed.Good fun though!
Thing is, I'm actually more interested in all that prep work etc than the high-speed blat itself!
Hats off to you Shmee great vid that is properly fast but looks like you did your homework well, which autobahn was that looked perfect for high speed runs. Was over there few weeks back got up to 270 km/h in the V10+ but as you mentioned in vid two lane autobahn isn't ideal...even at that speed you come up on other cars so fast you really have to be fully concentrating but some buzz alright. Well done !

Both interesting and scary how accurate the indicated speedo speed is in your video. Well done, good watch thatGood fun though!
I met Archie and saw the purple R8 today. He’s a nice guy and whilst the wrap isn’t for me (or in truth, him too!), the quality and finish of it is very impressive.
What is not impressive at all, however, is the white lettering on the tyres of both this R8 and SOL’s M3. Up close, it’s dreadful. It’s like some white rubber lettering has literally been glued onto the tyre and it looks like absolute st.
Lots of people at the car show seemed to know who Archie was and were asking for photographs and autographs etc., so I can imagine someone like Tim must be beating folk away with a stick most of the time.

Great video Shmee! I'm really impressed how composed the car was at vmax. What was the state of the front end after the run? Good fun though!

The personal insults towards Paul on here piss me off if honest. He's a genuine, hard working bloke trying to make a living, and has spent YEARS building up to where he is now, from nothing. All he does is provide free content, that tens of thousands love - you don't have to watch.
We've all said stupid things, but he's no idiot in my book - he's the one in Spain in an Aston Martin right now while most of us are sat at desks, with a boss in our ear, waiting for 5pm.

Lovely car. Utterly awful, horrific, eye-burningly rubbish wrap. It looks cheap, like it belongs to the owner of a dodgy binary trading website. Or as many have said previously, like a giant cadbury wrapper.
From what I understand, even he doesn't like it. Why do it then? The comments on the video are mostly negative.
Tyre writing is a 'no' too. Shame, it's a beautiful car underneath the tat he's wrapped it in.

People are talking about it. We're talking about it. There are loads of comments on YT and Insta. It's all about exposure, reach and interaction. Utterly awful, horrific, eye-burningly rubbish wrap. Plus he gets to do another video in a month where he wraps it a more sensible colour. You just need to see it all from a business perspective and it makes sense.

Who's immensely excited by my video this evening then? Would post a link but I'll be spanked on the bottom.
Mine & my brothers new 'daily drivers'... LOL
Your GTI is the same colour as my R, it’s a great colour. If you do wrap it how about Oak Green for some retro MK2 vibe?Mine & my brothers new 'daily drivers'... LOL
