About time this young lady had a channel like Shmee instead of doing videos for What Car. Her reviews are more informative than Shmee and well she's a a lot nicer to look at which of course helps with the old attention span.

Whatever about Anish but it seems that there are some serious issues with these cars, If I'd just spent 250k on a 720s and had those issues I'd be pretty pissed off TBH , new model fair enough but it will damage the brand ...same as 12c when it launched you'd think they would learn
People have short memories. What about the last generation Porsche GT3's burning themselves to the ground and all having to be recalled. How many Aventadors and Gallardo's have set themselves on fire and Ferrari has had issues with many early cars. This is nothing new.

If you insist on being the first to buy a new model at this level its almost inevitable that you will get teething problems. I can’t think of a single supercar maker that has not had similar problems.

So please let’s not just take the word of one Youtuber. There are numerous accounts by various other owners all over the web that have not mentioned any problems. A little balance goes a long way.

Nah that's fair enough on the GT3 but Porsche release a lot of cars every few years so it's one model in a lineup of many. I'm a fan of McLaren and would like to own one at some point so I do hope these are isolated cases

Looks aside, The female is just normal, natural, (cool even), but Shmee just comes over as a bit of "rich kid/cock socket" - sorry Schmee but this isn't aimed at you as a person, only the way your videos come across, a bit more Harry Metcalfe required IMO

She did Mini JCW races this year.

She has ,or had a "I want to be racing at Le Mans in X years" thing going on but that may have been dumped due to not

getting the breaks ,or talent required to move up the GT ladder.

It's a balance, you have to create content considering the audience as a whole and where the largest numbers sit in terms of what they want to see. As I've explained before, if I were to dial up the nerd level to PH standard, my audience would collapse and fall through the floor.

I stopped watching Shmee because his content was boring the tits off me. It was becoming even more tedious with so many videos rambling on about the same car. I gather it's very difficult to come up with new and original content on a daily basis. However it was becoming unbearable.

The content now just comes across as a bit forced and dare I say it, a bit smug.

This is absolutely what I meant, I can't watch the videos now out of sheer boredom.

I like how Shmee is always the benchmark when it comes to assessing other motoring-related content/creators. Just shows what a powerhouse he and his brand now is. People tend to forget the calibre of cars he features in his videos (ignoring the Peugeot in today's video, sorry). Margot Robbie could review a BMW X3 and I'm sure I'd be bored after a couple of minutes.

It's clear that YT isn't paying as well as it was though. The Jeep that had lots of mods planned has had virtually nothing, no doubt thanks to the huge bill he had on the Gallardo changing the clutch.

I have a lot of respect for him though given he was living in his car a few years ago.
He still is living in his car isn't he.. well he was/is soon to be evicted from mates house he was crashing at.
My guess is he will have the same dilemma as Paul/SOL has had in regards to having to have a grown-up experience of needing to own a home.

I may have missed it, but he didn’t explain, what could only have been oil being burnt, out the exhaust, that we saw at the start. I did wonder about the running-in of his car. He and others seemed to be hooning it around Silverstone, only days/hours after he picked it up. IIRC, that track outing was unplanned, last minute decision. What’s the running-in procedure with a 720S?
This was my thought also.
I thought most brand new supercars had a 1500 mile break in period then a mini service then good to go.?
Thrashing it around Silverstone so soon doesn't seem a bright idea.

Are you saying your nerd level ISNT dialled up high?? Here's me thinking you need to dial it down and tone down the giggly girly child laugh.

Although I dislike a lot of his videos Paul comes across as a decent and genuine bloke - he’s also one of the few uk car youtubers who doesn’t have multi-millionaire parents to fall back on if things go Pete Tong so although I won’t be watching I hope his channel does well - at the moment he seems to be struggling, he has lots of subscribers but his view counts are pretty poor.
Hard to believe he only had the Gallardo 6 months.. think this might be why his viewers are low - people have seen that cars are just promotional tools he uses rather than be his pride and joy.

Pretty unnecessary thing to say. If you don't like it, don't watch it. He just explained why his videos are like they are, PH die hards are not the target audience.

It;s weird looking at the Stradman's views - he generally gets 100-200,000 views for his videos, but then there are three or four that have over 1.5m. Guess it must be algorithm related. But his view/sub ratio is very good, he generally gets the same sort of viewing numbers as Tim but with half the subs.

I guess he plays very well in America, he's very clean living, doesn't swear, is very 'nice boy' and is fairly upfront about being religious. That Dan guy who he goes to for the big cars must have serious money though - Zonda Tricolore, Cinque and Cinque Roadster, LaF, Huayra BC, Centenario and Chiron all in the garage. All a bit 'obvious' for my liking but can't fault his commitment biggrin

The American car guys are flying at the moment; The Stradman, Vehicle Virgins, Doug Demuro... They are putting the European channels to shame!

A lot of this comes down to algorithms and what they are preferring at any one time. Then it's down to the content creators to work out what they are looking for and push for that.

Quite clearly the best way to grow a channel in general if you look around is to dumb it down, reveal everything of your life, and be a bit silly on camera flaunting rules and being obnoxious. There are lines of intrusion into personal life that I'm just not willing to cross, much to my manager's dismay from his constant pushing!

I just can't watch Vehicle Virgins, can't put my finger on why. But it just shows that some appeal and some don't, no real reasoning why.

I still watch most of Salamondrin's videos, even though that's barely about cars these days. Love his podcasts though, that's pure car talk and I love it, as I do with Behind the Glass which I think Sam is recording more of this week.
