I have just seen that Mr JWW has been invited to drive a 2012 V8 Renault F1 car at Paul Ricard. He must be doing something right to get that kind of invite

It’ll be because Renault UK had it booked already for a set number of people and because of miscommunication haven’t been able to fill all the places I reckon....

That's a disturbing level of accurate information...

They ran an incentive for sales managers in the UK to attend, it was a great prize but unfortunately the height/weight restrictions have meant that many of those who won couldn’t attend.

It’s a shame really as it would be a cracking time!!

Good for him. Some of his content is good. Who would want to watch any amateur drive an f1 car. Waste of time.

This is exactly why I turned down the invite for me to drive it and am sending somebody who actually can in my place to film and talk about it. I'm hopeful my time will come in future!

No actually I'm inside the regulations, but honestly the preparation required to train the body for that combined with the manic travel schedule I have this month before the event in a few days - I just wouldn't be able to do it.

One could only imagine! Who are you sending?

My boss was one of the winners, absolutely gutted he couldn’t go, as a massive F1 fan he was really looking forward to it. These things happen though!

Ben is going, the chap who helps me film and recently present some videos as he's both a long term friend (maybe 15-16 years now) but also has fair racing experience; he's had class wins three times at the Spa 25 hours and albeit not with 'a name' he's had a collection of wins and podiums across smaller events like Fun Cup, Silverstone Classic etc

He must be good. That race is even harder than the Spa 24 hours laugh

The whole influencers vs vloggers thing reminds me of uber vs black cab drivers.

Black cab drivers are the traditional, reliable service.

Uber drivers are the new, 'cool' service which offers all that black cabs offer and more at a reduced rate.

While the initial reaction is for the traditional service to somewhat attack the new service eventually it will calm down as there is still a place in the market for both.

I can see why some journos might be annoyed that they work their arse off reviewing cars traditionally which takes an awful lot of effort for not much reward meanwhile they're watching vloggers make a 10 minute video (which I have no doubt takes a lot more effort than most expect) on the same car which is actually them walking around the hotel the launch of the car is based at and then in the next sentence mentioning that they've wrapped their Lamborghini. If I was a journo I would certainly feel a bit weird about it.

However as the old saying goes 'don't hate the player hate the game' these vloggers have found a way to be able to get all the benefits of being a motoring journo (free loan cars, flying out to launches, cool experiences etc etc) without actually having to be one, and they make a decent living in the process and they don't have to actually review the cars or get a article in by a deadline they just have to make a video documenting the experience and have a good personality and the confidence to do it on camera. Then they upload it to a platform of which the vast majority of the younger audience (16-25) use everyday for them to watch for free meanwhile the magazine review is out a week later you have to go to the shop to buy the mag or wait another week for it to be online and then you have to read the article rather than simply watching a video.

I personally watch every video from some vloggers (some I agree are absolute ste) and read every article from journos and I hope I can continue to do so in the future!

But I rarely use black cabs and most the time uber, to bring it back to my original point biggrin
There was a glaring gap in the market and YT's new technology and the YT vloggers filled it quickly.

Formal + long = TV (e.g. Top Gear).
Informal + short = YT (e.g. Shmee).

The question, now, is what comes next (YT is peaking).

The abuse Seb is taking is a bit uncalled for imo, it's FREE content so if you don't like him, don't watch him. No need to make personal comments about him, his family and his GF. Here's just a few comments from his recent upload which are really uncalled for.

---

Seb “I did it all by myself, I have no silver spoon” Delaney showing us all once again how in touch he is with the rest of us. You’re a self made man...bks. You’re a fraud and bullstter of the highest order. You can’t help being born into a privileged life; good on you and I can’t blame you for it BUT you can help bullstting to thousands of people about how you have a couple of “successful businesses in my spare time”. Your “spare time” is spent making these videos buddy. You are simply not trust worthy. We don’t want or need to know your personal finances; we actually don’t really care about this BUT we do care when you time and again make videos with obvious lies in them; hyping yourself up as this young savvy chap who lives this great life and all self made. You’re a fraud living out of your parents efforts proclaiming its down to your hard work. You can tell because you treat your brand new car like a child does with a toy - you got bored super quickly and want a new one. Had you really worked and earned it you would very unlikely not behave this way. You take your audience for utter mugs on these false pretences and lies. You are simply NOT self made - you claim you are over and over again though. Oh and fk you Shaun Pinto before you post the obvious ste you always do...

---

Why does this ste keep appearing on my timeline even after I've selected not interested? Brag brag brag. Money money money. Look how I can spend my parents cash on embarrassing cars. It costs twice as much as a Range Rover but it makes a statement. Yes, the statement being that you are a complete and utter cock! JWW makes interesting content that I enjoy watching. I'll even suffer Schmee's smugness if I'm interested in the car but this is just awful. Why on earth do companies like McLaren give you their cars, can't they see what a cringeworthy character you are? Man, give it up. And take Archie with you.?

This video should be titled: “Couple of out of touch tossers driving to hogwarts in huge pretentious douchebag pimp wagon”. Can Archie and Seb learn that bragging about money is actually quite vile and shows how childish and ttish you both really are. Meanwhile there are little old ladies out there struggling to afford to keep warm whilst these aholes are rolling past bragging about how much stuff costs...sad.

Don’t believe the self-made “from nothing” stories that come from these you tubers , the only one who has really come from nothing is Paul SOL, Archie - millfield school (20K+/year). Sam STG- Harrow school (35k+/year) JWW and Shmee at prestigious schools aswell as Seb, Don’t believe this self made personal business success bullst?

If you give yourself up for public consumption then you have to accept not everyone is going to agree/like you.

I doubt he gives a flying fk what some random person thinks about him , at the end of the day viewers count it doesn't matter if they actually like your videos.
