Anyone else underwhelmed by Paul SoL’s big announcement? Been hyping it for weeks, basically he’s going to learn drifting.
Not entirely sure that’s ‘changing the car game’.
Jeez - didn't think he could embarrass himself more. Not entirely sure that’s ‘changing the car game’.
What an amazing big announcement which he has went on about in numerous videos!
Nearly of the comments say the same thing.
I do get the impression he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Given that he's trailed it for weeks he'd hyped expectations up to a level where people were expecting him to announce he'd discovered a cure for cancer or cold fusion.
I do get the impression he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
It'll be amusing if he is decent at it and becomes a more successful competitive driver than Archie (albeit in a different field)I do get the impression he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Just watched Tim's road trip in the GTR and honestly I enjoy these videos much more compared to car reviews. Reviews are fine but I feel like everyone is doing the same thing, same cars. Speaking of car reviews, Tim any plans to meet up with JCartu again and do a video on his LaF Aperta?
I do enjoy the European road trips a lot more. A nice spec that AMG as well, so glad it wasn't blue.Loplop said:
I can't speak a word of Italian but I think my favourite automotive YT channel at the moment is Davide Cironi.
Gets some obscure stuff on, nice scenery, surprisingly good production quality and he's even had an EB110 on...
Whole heartedly agree. You can tell the cars are his passion. He's not an excitable chimp.Gets some obscure stuff on, nice scenery, surprisingly good production quality and he's even had an EB110 on...
Its a car, a driver and a review.

Thank you for making me aware of this channel. Some great stuff on there. I usually hate subtitled videos but these I can live with. If there was a UK person doing the same thing, the channel would be huge. Gets some obscure stuff on, nice scenery, surprisingly good production quality and he's even had an EB110 on...

Yeah exactly, he doesn't feel the need to bounce around and act like he's 5 years old in a little tikes car the second he gets behind the wheel, so when he shows such emotions you truly see that it is the car that he is driving invoking that reaction. Its a car, a driver and a review.

No problem, he certainly deserves more exposure! His video on the Renault 5 GT Turbo, 106 Rallye and Saxo VTS are particularly good. I keep meaning to set aside time to watch his EB110 documentary, the snippets of interviews he put into his drive video were great so I imagine the full documentary is even better!Shmee said:
Not sure it's about flipping here, market is falling hard on everything. It's more likely that Tony did TGE a favour and took the allocation as Tom was probably a) not looking to sell the Vent S yet and b) looking at a giant hit (and possibly negative equity) if he did.

An interesting comment and one that could have a lot of implications for your industry.
The classic car market appears to have been in a bubble for some time now. The premiums paid for some, in-demand, new cars appear to have been excessive and residual prices have been unusually strong. This is probably a result of low interest rates and the easy availability of credit, which increased demand and led to a speculative element entering the market in search of quick gains.
With interest rates now rising and access to finance becoming tougher, it appears that the market is entering a downturn, even if that’s just a case of it returning to some form of normality.
I suspect that if Tom could have sold the Performante for a premium, then he would have done so. Arranging finance to complete the purchase before selling the car on could have been a problem.
If we were to see a more significant downturn, how do you think it would affect your business?
In some ways it could be beneficial as it could reduce the competition, making it more difficult for those who are less well established and also for anybody new wanting to enter the sector.
Would you consider selling some of your 'keepers' if you thought that their values were likely to drop significantly e.g. 675 LT and GT8?
Also, would it affect your purchase of the Ford GT?
A thousand cars is not exactly rare. The requirement of a 50% deposit could make it difficult for some people to fulfil their orders if they’re reliant on finance. The asking price is already high and that’s before you've specced the car up. If cars started appearing on the used market below the list price, then it could lead to a lot of cancelled orders.

Fair play to him.
I have been watching paul for about a year and i find his content very watchable. Shmee150 has been feeling like he is sponsored by a lot of companies as all his videos are him test driving hatchbacks and tuned cars. I liek watching DDE (dailydrivenexotics). Content seems more relevant to what i emjoy

Makes no odds having it on video if no-one complains.

Do you think he needs to be careful because of his career, and the negative effect the Daily Mail could have on it if they were made aware of that video, or just YouTubers in general? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92CmZCbnh90

I've tried to stay away from doing anything like that on the road lately. The odd dab of oppo perhaps, but certainly no more asbo stuff. For now...
