Don't like Sid's channel should stick to his day job but if you don't like his sliding around best not watch 'LivingLifeFast' this guy takes it up to the next level that will have the balls of other car youtubers shrink.

I do like this guys content and intro's are really well done. But he needs to be careful too.

Sid, the childrens TV presenter, back speeding and sliding cars around on very busy public roads while admitting to sliding (8m 15).

Needs to be careful.
Do you think he needs to be careful because of his career, and the negative effect the Daily Mail could have on it if they were made aware of that video, or just YouTubers in general?

I've tried to stay away from doing anything like that on the road lately. The odd dab of oppo perhaps, but certainly no more asbo stuff. For now... scratchchin
Tim has been kind enough to explain the police won't usually do anything about that sort of footage unless you have an accident, then they can use the footage to paint a picture of reckless driving to increase the penalty.

As you point out, the Daily Mail brigade could happily mount their very high horses when combining childrens entertainer and dangerous driving. Especially when you can see tractors etc in the background of the roundabouts.

Just seems a little silly, but then I guess he has to live up to his name.

It's a nice simple cheap story for someone; Childrens TV presenter promoting dangerous driving on YouTube. The Mail could probably stretch a whole campaign against vloggers out of it.

And a properly worded complaint or two to the BBC and it wouldn't just be him gone, they'd drop the whole show. I've seen it done before for their cheap filler shows, it only takes a bit of a taint and they're gone.

I always liked MCM's solution years ago, I think it was when they had a tune on a Golf? "We took the car to test on a private road, our mate's driveway. For some reason his driveway is really wide and well surfaced, and he's painted road markings on it."

Good points all round... I must have missed Shmee's explanation on that. I've always held the opinion that the police have far more important things to be doing, especially with how highly strung they are these days.

I do fear that I'll get caught out one day though. I don't keep any footage like that on external hard drives etc after hearing about a few local motorcyclists houses being raided in my area, though that was following a death on the road.

It's like a lot of things, everything's fine, until it's not.

You could spend every day sliding around the roads and posting videos onto the web and, chances are, the police would be very unlikely to ever be interested, until there's a complaint, or worse still, an accident and you're involved. If there's footage that might be useful to secure a conviction, then it could, conceivably, be used.

True, I've certainly been attempting to tone it down a bit lately. Mostly due to the audience it was attracting... Not very PH at all.

3rd part of the Gordon Murray Escort build was released yesterday. Very enjoyable indeed, with some genuine technical skills included and not a wrap or drive thru anywhere to be seen!
Watched this last night.

Huge amount of work going into it.

It's going to be some car when finished.

I had a drink with him a few weeks back to discuss some plans, totally genuine bloke and massive petrolhead, it comes across well in his videos.

I wouldn't put much weight behind an unqualified opinion from a partisan source.

It may be the de facto situation that most things won't get looked at and wont lead to any action being taken but that's not exactly a guarantee, especially if there's publicity. Plus the wrong sort of attention to material like that and you could utter fk the commercial aspects of your 'brand' and any side deals you've got.

I think some people assume that because they've got away with doing stuff in the past and a mob of screeching sycophants lap it up that this makes them untouchable.

The LLF guy even zooms into the car Owners face sat in the passengers seat so you can see their reaction while he drives their car on the public highway like a total bell e*d.

The LivingFastGuy does come across really well to me and much more relatable compared to others.

I love the close ups he does. Very simple yet effective.

I don't think that I ever offered anything 'official' on it, more that my thoughts would be that presenting illegal driving now will be looked back at in the future and then become subject to retrospective judgement.

Of course that's also inclusive of the image it demonstrates if the subject should ever be involved in something that goes wrong.

Remember when Tim had a small bump in the LT Spider on Fuel Faction? There wasn't much drama around that, and I think thats in part down to the fact that he never hoons his cars on the road on video. If every other video he put out was wheelspinning from a standstill or sliding around roundabouts I think there'd be a lot more attention drawn to the bump.

I have for a while. Yesterday they released and absolute corker of a film. An extremely interesting car, in an interesting collection, owned by an interesting bloke. Namely a rare and savage Jaguar XJR-15, owned by a Brit, Jasbir Dhillon who emigrated to the USA.

I really like the suff on the Petrolicious website. Mind you, I may be a little biased. wink

https://petrolicious.com/articles/track-modified-a...

Enjoyed the recent vids from Vice President Dan. Both videos had me gripped! (you see what I did there?) Liking the car selection he owns now too! The M3 mods and eventual trip to the 'Ring should be fun to watch.

Personally I think I've seen enough drifting around roundabouts on wet roads to last a lifetime. I guess it's a step up from wheelspins as you pull out of a T junction, but only just.

Same opinion here. Hope to do something with the E30 in the spring.
